Republicans utterly decimated despite trump and his idiotic rallies. I hope he feels like a failure. That is a joke because he obviously does his behavior makes it pretty easy to spot.
Something that was interesting about this midterm was that the democrats spent most of their money on the house (the exception was O'rourke.) Republicans spent most of their money on the senate.
Overall the amount of money that is spent on US elections is a clear indication we have a problem that needs fixing.
Also fixing gerrymandering would be a good thing as well, in MO for our midterms we had a "fix" for gerrymandering and it won. I think Arnold Schwarzenegger is leading the charge on fixing gerrymandering atm
Unfortunately the money thing won't be getting fixed anytime soon. There was a supreme court decision some years back that essentially ensured that infinite amounts of money could be spent.

👆 This is spot-on. And when anti-corruption legislation is introduced, it is shot down quite deftly with creepy, silent bipartisanship.

Snow dragon seems to think this is an easily fixable thing. He needs to explain himself because what reasonable person would disagree with his point but the ones benefiting and in power would fight like heck to remain in power.
Acknowledging the problem is the first step but what I've seen for at least a decade now is that these things creep slowly and bite us hard in the end.
It's not just money spent on the campaigns, it's also the transfer of money to the surrounding areas of DC Metro area. Now five of the richest counties in the USA are centered in that region.
The money is whats allowed our politicians to stand and promote their fake platforms and not held accountable. Is their a fix? Stop reelecting our super old politicians would be a start, a relatively easy start. The reason I shared the money spent on the elections is to simply show votes are bought with sound bites and false advertisements and whoever spends the most, generally wins.

When everyone was looking, the Democrats flipped 40 seats. They flipped 40 seats. That's as many as four tens. And that's wonderful.

A "record breaking" Blue Wave no less.
