👆 You see Neph him "attacking their credibility" is not pulling an ad hominem, it's the opposite. It's him saying who you are doesn't make your argument more or less valid, the content of your argument should do that on its own.
It's just an attempt from him to discredit them, don't be stupid. It's the same reason why he's constantly shrieking for people to prove their gun knowledge when they try and talk about gun control. That's why he's going after this aspect rather than what the guy has actually said. And to repeat myself, a survivors experience does add validity and perspective to their arguments.

That wasn't my point though. My point is I'm not going to agree with someone on policy just because they were a part of the tragedy. If I don't think it's good policy I'll argue against it, and I don't think these kids being part of a tragedy gives their policy proposals any weight, just like I don't think the emotional anguish after 9/11 made the patriot act any less of a bad policy.Silent Master was arguing that them being in a tragedy did nothing to change the validity of their actual arguments or policy proposals, and Neph called him a sociopath and said you wouldn't say that to a 9/11 survivor, and I'm saying we shouldn't have accorded the 9/11 policy proposals less scrutiny just because tragedy.
I understand your point, but I will have to disagree again. I think their experience definitely gives their argument weight, as they've witnessed how much death and destruction a gunman with a semi-automatic rifle can cause in such a short period of time, and later learned of how relatively easy it was for Cruz to acquire it. From what I've read about it thus far, their ideas for gun law reform do not seem unreasonable.
I suppose we'll have to agree to disagree about the matter.

Nothing in the long quote of Hogg's indicates any working knowledge of guns laws or what laws were passed. in fact he actually claims that laws were passed that put kids lives in danger, but gives zero examples.
He seems understandably emotional in the clip, which itself seems incomplete. We know he's talking about the gun lobby's influence over lawmakers to keep gun laws lenient, and about Congress' failure to pass gun laws aimed at reducing gun violence.

Exactly, the speech was all emotion and no facts. it sucks that he had to go through that, but I don't see why that makes his opinion special or worth more than anyone else's

In what specific aspect do you think they have more validity/credibility in?

I'd like to weigh in on this myself, but I believe George Carlin said it best, in regards to Japanese-Americans who were removed from their homes and placed into internment camps during World War II. Their experiences should absolutely carry weight in, say, the argument why citizens should not be detained without reasonable suspicion.
I... don’t get your point. As that didn’t answer my question. You linked me to a comedian describing what we already know happened in American history.
I asked what specific aspects they have more credibility/validity in.
I feel like I asked “what color is the ball” and you answered “bowling ball”. Kinda strange. Please explain so I can get your point.
Holy shit, I knew David Hogg crying about civility and being upset over being insulted was him being hypocritical, but I didn't know to what extent until this:

Well I don't think she should be insulting any high school student for sharing their political opinions. He has no special protections. She can say whatever she likes and reap the consequences, which is exactly what's happening. This is all on her. All she had to do was not insult a high school student. She failed, and now the high school student has gotten the better of her.
She lost at least nine, some rather large ones like Hulu, Nestle, Jenny Craig and Expedia. What a petty retard she is.

David Hogg calls people who disagree with him on politics child murderers, and he has the gall to demand a boycott of people for not being civil towards him?
If Laura Ingraham had attacked his politics instead of attacking him personally over his academics, he'd had no real ground in telling her advertisers to pull out. But she's a moronic retard and he's capitalizing on it. It's her fault; she's the adult of the two.
1. He doesn't get to hide behind the "I'm just a kid" card when he's promulgating himself as a public figure.
2. There's a huge difference between a political discussion and calling people on the other side child murderers
3. Calling for a boycott is not an appropriate answer to being insulted by someone.
1 & 2) He can when he's attacked personally and not over the political views he's pushing. His politics are fair game to attack without repercussion, his personal life isn't as he's a minor. She's free to do it mind you, cos it's not illegal, but as an adult she should be prepared for the backlash. She's a retard apparently; who didn't realize what could happen from her own actions.
3) And why not? Is he not free to say as he wishes in return, Ingraham had no problem saying what she wanted. Companies do not have to follow his orders, they can choose to ignore him.

I do like how some people are basically going, it's ok when he does it and then turning around and yelling "burn the witch".
