Dune (2021)

I loved Raised by wolves until she gave birth to that dragon thing. Even if the lead kid was an idiot, it was still a beautiful and thought provoking series but it lost me with the hole in the Earth plot and the dragon thing. Not gonna bother with S2.

As for Dune even if I work OT the next day I'm still gonna probably watch this Friday afternoon

Will be watching on preview Thursday night.

I wanted to see a Thursday evening preview, but it's my daughter's 2nd birthday, haha... one of the few things that would force me to put off Dune. And I ain't downloading it until I've seen it in the theater.

I have tickets for Saturday evening.

Please no spoilery things. I know I've read the book, but please don't give away big, visual or impactful stuff. Spoiler tags, please.

Holy dick-bean, I can't wait to see it...

Same. I liked the show a lot until that stupid, unnecessary shit. The show actually felt like a proper Prometheus sequel we never got.

Finally its Dune week. Been a long time coming.

Saw it last night and thought it was excellent. I really enjoyed it and will definitely check it out in theatres. Here hoping that part 2 gets greenlit...

I like the way she was hacked and her body turned into a 3D printer to make the snake. It's from one of the Mithraic murals. The one with bull and snake, I wonder if the Mithraic "God" is there with them. I think so, I also think this is the planet humanity originated from based on the cave drawings. I can't help wondering if the God exiled humanity...

comes out here Friday, I have a downloaded copy, but will watch how it should be watched in IMAX at the weekend.

I wish I had waited, but still looking forward to seeing it again on the big screen.

Yeah, shame, truly a shame.

Don't worry, if you somehow don't get around to paying for it in theaters and a sequel doesn't get greenlit, us other Dune fans will just crucify you. 🙂

I'm going to try and see it again in theaters this weekend, if not, for sure next week.

It looked amazing on my 54" screen, it's going to be epic in the theater.

droolio

saw it

prolly will watch tomorrow or sometime next week

So I enjoyed this film a lot.

Like I said before, I went in knowing nothing about Dune lore, so a few of the dream/vision sequences and interplay between the factions were slightly confusing at times -- but not to the point where I ever found it overly difficult to track what was going on.

I don't want to spoil any of the plot, but needless to say, I really hope there is a sequel, because I was left wanting to know more when this film cut to black.

Definitely recommend. 👆

And I will say that even if you HAVE read the book, you'll still probably really want to see the rest adapted to the screen by this filmmaker. 😳
