All this hype and hoopla, people, is called MARKETING.

This movie s being marketed to make people post and talk like this.

I could totally see the movie industry marketing a movie as "So edgy, incels gonna shoot shooty bang bang", because they're shameless and would sell their grandmothers for a literal quick buck.

So wait, what about the army and such giving incel warnings? Are they in on it too?

A lot of the negative reviews I've seen seem to focus on the whole too much violence/incel/guns/ so I'm not sure RT is going to be a good representation. Let's see what happens during awards season.

Yep. It seems to not follow the media's narrative and so... With that said, it may still simply be a mediocre movie as well.

Awards are hardly a good indication of quality these days. Just see the movie and make up your own mind.

This. Period.

Proof of the worthlessness of awards: Out of all the great indy animations, including Japanese Anime imports, awards shows only recognizes Pixar. Because it's owned by Disney, and has Hollywood ties.

One of the best films I’ve seen in a while. All of the accolades are deserved.

CBM of the year for me. What Todd and Joaquin did is really mind blowing and the ending? WOW!

A lot marvel fanboys won’t admit that this movie is any good if they see it.

I might see this some time next week

Thursday October record $13 million beating out Venom at $10 million. Some predictions have it opening at $90+ million which would be a record for October. I'm going tonight. Hope it is as good as I'm hearing. Definitely doesnt seem like a flop like some here predicted.

Only an idiot would call this a flop. Budget was only around 55 M. Anyway, going tomorrow or Sunday. this will take the October record.

Yes. The MCU Fan Base is getting very very TOXIC. Will probably soon pass the Star Wars Fanbase the way it is going.

Will watch this if I get a chance this weekend.

I did see a few extended scenes of the big moments in this film prior.

Spoiler:
I liked the tone and acting but one thing that bothered me was the take on Joker. The scenes I saw , Joaquin's Joker was overly whiny and effeminate in his delivery and voice. I hope that isn't too prevalent throughout the whole film.

Saw this tonight.

Phoenix is astonishing. Even when he's on his own his intensity makes you withdraw in apprehension waiting for him to unleash.

The ending leaves a big question though. Given throughout the film

Spoiler:
he has numerous fantasies that are shown to never happen
it makes you wonder if
Spoiler:
his actions on the TV show actually happen
because
Spoiler:
he escapes but next scene is him in what is presumably Arkham Asylum
which makes me think
Spoiler:
he was actually caught by the two detectives and everything after that was another fantasy

I think we can say with a fair bit of certainty that

Spoiler:
that part was real. After all, a major event that Arthur wasn't present for--but we know to have happened--was a direct result of his rant on the show. Namely, the death of Thomas and Martha Wayne.

Personally, I'm more curious about whether

Spoiler:
Arthur was really adopted, or if that was Wayne's coverup story after he pump'd and dump'd his sexy, mentally ill employee. I mean, why else would he have even hired someone like her?

Chill out. The guy is a complete joke (no pun intended):

That and it hasn't even been out a full weekend yet.

Comic book film of the year. Wipes its ass with Endgame.

I just saw the movie and I can't figure out exactly what problem critics have with the overall setup of Joker's origin. Phoenix's performance alone should have laid theor doubts to rest.

Spoiler:
The breakdown moments when he finds out that certain fantasies never happened were great. Speaking of which, I am convinced that killing the TV host did happen I'm not sure the escape afterwards was legit or another fantasy considering Arthur's in an asylum at the end

For the other plot point

Spoiler:
I'm not sure if the signature on his mom's picture was her's or actually Thomas Wayne's.

Going today.
