That will fade when they get their next big buzz word to fume over. Just a matter of time.eg Remember when they fumed over "feminism", well, I guess that's still a trigger word.
Remember when they didn't fume over underage lesbians in The New Mutants.
The youtuber talking heads must not have told them to get mad about that.
Odd.

Joker's biggest problem is that it's merely masquerading as a comic book film.

Thor 2 wasn't even that bad. It had its moments.
Even I don't get TDW hate and I despise Thor with all my heart.
A true disaster and an insult to comic book movies as a whole happened a few months after TDW's release. It was The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

I generally like all the Asgard parts (bar the Asgardian troops getting absolutely steamrolled), but the Earth stuff drags it down hard.
I consider Iron Man 3 a worse movie, but still, I think it's fair to say those are the bottom two MCU films.

You could say the same about the Nolan trilogy in general, I think.

They kind of did. None of his movies followed the comics in the slightest, other than Bruce’s parent being killed and stuff.
We have the batcave, the technology, Wayne Enterprises, batsuits, batarangs... the butler...
It's still Batman.
Trying to be more grounded and less comic-y, but in the end it's still the film series about a filthy rich guy dressing up as a bat, having the same motivation as always, using the same methods as always.

Stiltman lost too many brain cells to his alcoholism.Joker in no way said any of that.
You're getting paid for being retarded, yes?

Do you think Joker's movie did that?
Yes.
You can remove the few comic elements it has and rename the characters, the city the action is taking place in and so on... it won't matter one bit.
It still is going to be the same movie. Great movie, no doubt. But one that doesn't need any ties with DC universe.
Of course, pretending to be a comic book movie about one of the most popular villains was infinitely more profitable than having to get your own budget and crew...
Remember what Phillips said:
We didn't follow anything from the comic-books, which people are gonna be mad about. We just wrote our own version of where a guy like Joker might come from. That's what was interesting to me. We're not even doing Joker, but the story of becoming Joker. It's about this man.

Joker never really had a solid origin story, so there was nothing to adapt.
That isn't saying "**** comics". It's exploring uncharted territory.
What was he like before becoming a psychopathic criminal?
The irony is it likely being made up in Joker's head fits in with comic continuity perfectly. They can create an entire franchise of nothing but alternative origin stories from a deranged Joker mind.
