The Prequels get too much shit, imo. Sure they have their problems, but they're not terrible films. I still on a very rare occasion watch them if they're on TV and I'm flipping channels.PM is the worse of those three though, sorry, DT.
PM has Darth Maul and cheesy sitcom appeal.
Attack of the Clones was just boring imo. Aside from Boba Fett's daddy getting beheaded what was there? Whole lot of nothing as Obi Wan chased down the clones, and Anakin said unlistenable dialogue.
And don't bring in Yoda, he was NOT a good thing. No one wants the wise old dungeon master to suddenly jump into the campaign and solo an army of dragons.

Quill was only half-celestial/ego(whatever proper term it is) while Ego was alive and supplying him with energy as his dad and power source, but since he's dead his powers seem to have gone away.
Well, there's a video somewhere that says that Quill will somehow find a way to reactivate his powers, therefore be unstoppable later on.

Even if Quill is able to regain his powers via some deus ex machina move, he'd not be unstoppable.
His farther was a full Celestial and was stopped, we know the other Celestial can die as well. eg The Knowhere floating head
The movie had a lot of good scenes individually that could not save the film collectively from being a piece of shit.
I liked the chemistry of the team. The group banter scenes overall felt very organic and were genuinely funny a lot of the time.
I liked icarus, Faustus, Gilgamesh, Makari and Kingo as characters. The indian sidekick was also funny. Thena was better than I expected Angelina Jolie to be but wasted potential and Druig felt kind of "there" and inconsistent, along with Salma Hayek's character and Sprite.
Best iteration of super speed as a fighting style yet for a comic book film. More accurately, whereas DoFP Quicksilver has arguably the best portrayal of super speed in general, this movie had the best portrayal of what fighting a speedster should be like. It feels like with this movie Disney-Marvel is finally learning how to add "impact" to fight scenes. Icarus was a beast. My personal favorite fight was him against the Deviants in the Amazon.
This is by far the most ambitious and high concept MCU film. A lot of genuine philosophical dilemmas about the human condition that go beyond anything we've seen in other Marvel shlock.
The "lore" of the Eternals- how they've existed alongside humanity, being the myths and legends of human folklore, was pretty cool.
shit i dont like
it has to be said, gemma chan was shit in this movie. SHIT! Her acting was trash, her character was boring. She had zero personality, she had zero agency, she was passive and spent the entire movie just reacting to shit that was going on around her. She has ZERO chemistry with anyone else on the team and was ignored by most of them for 90% of the film. Think of every team banter scene and notice that she did **** all in every one of those scenes. So much of Icarus' characterization revolves around Sersi but it's pointless because they have NO chemistry at all and their relationship feels completely sterile. He's like "I've always loved you" and I'm like "but why?". She looks like she'd be a total deadfish in the bedroom. Also despite having amazing potential with her powers she does almost zero fighting throughout the movie and doesn't do anything cool despite having some of the most interesting matter manipulation powers in the setting. God damn, she existed in this movie as a damsel in distress waifu ****doll and served no other purpose.
Movie was way too long (2.5 hours) with way too much plot and too many characters. They wanted to tell a origin story for like 6 different people and a pointless love story, and so we were treated to constant flashbacks and casual namedropping of deepest lore shit that no one cares about. By the time they start talking about the mindmeld or whatever I had completely checked out of the plot. I couldn't tell you how they ended up stopping Tiamut because my brain was numb from plot overload.
Despite having all this plot a lot of the character motivations felt inconsistent. There was quite a few setups with no payoff. We kept hearing about how Sersi's powers shouldn't work on sentient beings but she kept doing it anyway and we're never given any explanation for why. Thena is "the team's deadliest warrior" but has this random mental illness that renders her useless until the last 20 minutes of the film. How was her illness cured? Who knows. Did she ever get a true "i get to go ham" moment? Not really. Her fight with the boss deviant got interrupted like 20 times and she went crazy halfway through it.
The CGI was PS2-tier in a lot of scenes.
Spoiler:I really expected him to either sacrifice himself to take out the boss Deviant or grant us some payoff for Sersi's powers by having her turn him into stone or something, but we got neither. It also feels like his character may have fallen prey to reshoots or something. The rest of the team clearly felt some kind of disdain for him but it's not clear why. He's never really shown to be antagonistic or cocky or otherwise unprofessional. My friend described him as "The Cyclops" and I feel like that's a good label for his personality.
Icarus' death sucked.
The Deviant subplot was shit. They served no purpose at all beyond being the obligatory CGI creature villains, and there was no payoff to the boss version gaining sentience and becoming humanlike. When he showed up on the beach I expected him to team up against Icarus or something but he just jobbed and died as a villain.
Overall the movie was a real slog to get through. I hope Disney just quietly forgets about this team and moves on, because I don't see any of these guys fitting into the MCU. I've been saying for years that if Marvel wants to dip further into the Cosmic side of the setting then they need to go for Annihilation or something.
What I found funny was that the DC Universe apparently exists in fictional form inside the MCU. Batman gets mentioned in jest by Gilgamesh, Phastos' son sees Ikaris and calls him "S'perman!" saying he saw him flying on TV with a cape. (Ikaris: "I don't wear a cape." 😛 ) In fact, I bet in the MCU, the legend of Ikaris is what inspired the creation of Superman, which would be hilarious. 😆
Also, the speed feats by Makkari demonstrate this is how super speed should be depicted in live action, too; Marvel movies with Quicksilver (X-men and Avengers versions) also do it better than any live action version of the Flash the past decade.

"As far as we're shown, Star-Lord's new power comes from drawing energy from the core of Planet Ego, which is basically Ego's brain. Ego confirms that he is a Celestial, so it could be said that Star-Lord gains his abilities by drawing energy from a Celestial's brain.May 17, 2017
