@ddm If you're going to accuse me of being dishonest, I see no point. I said I maintain that their plan was to stop Kavanaugh, but not to delay any and all confirmations until after Jan 3rd, when they would have taken power; if the election had gone their way from their POV back then.

I added if anyone thought that, it was a pipe dream, meaning for all purposes unattainable. Many things would have had to fallen in play, winning the Senate for one and that was always looking like a lost cause.

The FBI investigation was never going to go on for months, if it showed any signs of doing so, Republicans would have withdrawn Kavanaugh, had Trump nominate another Judge (the #2 choice already vetted) and they would have pushed that Judge through with a quickness. Meaning the Dems gained their small victory in having a Kavanaugh free SC.
