Comic Book Questions & Discussion

Looking at those old Masters of the Universe mini comics that came with toys.

It's funny, you look at these things and think you could have done that. Yet the guys they have working on them are classically trained artist who worked with some of the best in the business.

The comic industry has always been funny like they. They recruited only the best, to work on projects your kid brother in middle school could have done.

Isn't gay Alan Scott really old news?

He was gay in DCnU new52 shit only.

Now he was supposed to be straight again. But apparently DC has other plans for him.

Hmmm for a buncha straights. You guys are overly concerned with gay men

The funny thing is he started off insane, and the lantern "fixed" him.

Hmmm.. 😜

so this is some of what will happen in infinite frontier

Wonder Woman

At the end of Death Metal #7, Wonder Woman died. Um, spoilers. It may not have been entirely clear, and indeed she's explicitly told that's not what happened – but in Infinite Frontier #0, it's basically that. Sacrificing herself as part of the cost of resetting the multiverse, the Omniverse, in the eyes of The Hands who were all ready to be done with the place. And those left behind her in mourning.

So how is she in Infinite Frontier #0? The solicitation says that "Beyond the mortal world, Wonder Woman settles into a new role in the godsphere" while in Wonder Woman #770, it reads "it's just another day in Valhalla! The warriors here spend their days fighting and their nights drinking—and if they die in combat they'll be resurrected in time for the party. Strange, though, that no one seems surprised to see Wonder Woman in this crowd. It's up to Diana to find out why things are going wrong in the Sphere of the Gods—and whether it has anything to do with what landed her in the Norse afterlife."

Which is why we have seen Wonder Woman's new, ethereal look. She's no longer on the mortal sphere, and she's going on an Infinite Frontier tour by The Spectre in a Books Of Magic style, as she has choices.

The timeline has been reset, and all of history is remembered. Wonder Woman is "The One", she could ascend to godhood on Olympus. Or she could join the Quintessence, alongside Phantom Stranger, Spectre, Highfather, Mamaragan, Hera and Ganthet, that lot. And so… she prevaricates. And since she's read all the 5G books that may or may not come to pass, she wants a look at what comes next before making her choice.

Of course that also involves a tonne of Themyscirians jostling to be the New Wonder Woman even as they mourn her. She's not even cold…

Batman:

Joker attacks Arkham with gas. We never actually see him and it's mentioned that none of the victims are laughing, I think it might be a false flag by Scarecrow. Bane is killed in the attack.
A billionaire named Simon Saint is trying to make the Magistrate program a thing and working with Scarecrow.

Wonder Woman:

Amazons are fighting over who gets to be the new Wonder Woman, Hippolyta gives them a test. Nubia wins, Hippolyta gives her the crown and makes her queen before leaving to be the new Wonder Woman herself.
Hippolyta somehow knows Yara by name, Diana has never heard of her.
Yara left Brazil when she was a child too young to remember it, she was raised by her (deaf) aunt and (white) uncle in Idaho. As an adult she's traveling back to Brazil for the first time.

Green Lantern:

Alan comes out of the closet.
John and Baz are taking Teen Lantern to Oa because the Guardians want to know why she has the gauntlet.

Superman:

Spectre has talks about Jon being unfit to be Superman, and that he could end up a tyrant, but he gets proven wrong.

Green Arrow:

Roy is alive again, but isn't ready to tell anyone.

Flash.

Barry is invited to join Justice Incarnate by Superman-23. Wally is the new Flash.

The Alpha World and The Omega World

They name the second world that's at the center of the new multiverse with the Elseworld. Earth Omega. It's described as a place of endings, where even gods die. Darkseid is back and stronger than ever, saying that all past aspects of himself have combined into one. He kills the Quintessence.

Williamson doing a rehash of Johns Rebirth issue meta commentary:

There's a little speech from Diana that's clearly a shot at Didio. "For years, our lives were infected with despair. An omnipotent force from another world manipulated us as part of some grand experiment. It stole away so much. Our sense of legacy, our connections and faith in ourselves. We believed it's lies for too long. It let worse aspects of the multiverse hurt us."

If true, it's going to be interesting to see Darkseid's TRUE self. All the past Darkseid's were just one aspect of him.

yeah darkseid combined all his avatars, and has the power to kill the quintessence

the hands apparently reset the omniverse in death metal 7, I bet wonder woman is now hella powerful in sphere of the gods, def a step up, also all history is remembered in dc

dc is power creeping like crazy

😂

True Darkseid doesn't exist. It's just a fantasy of dc fanboys, specifically those with micropenises.

Doesn't get more "true" than that 😂
