Actually says a lot about the writer, that they compare being bullied (Like what probably happened to the writer growing up) in school to a babysitter paedo.

That's not what is being compared in that scene.

Skip pretended to be Peter's friend just to have his way with him, same as the black kid's babysitter did:

As for bullies, they have always been present in Parker's history and the reason for them to be in this particular story is to explain how Peter was alienated and really desperate for a friend - desperate enough to get easily duped and assraped.

I'm not ragging on him though. He mentioned Superman heat vision going insane before B showed up but before Brutus even punched him, he was able to open his eyes, take his hand off his face and look at Brutus coming at him before the punch. He then grabbed Superman by the head and dropped him. Before their fight, yes, context was there (that didn't matter). During their fight, no context was there to even mention (since Superman was able to take his hand off his eyes and his face entirely before getting punched).

So by your logic hes defenseless when Brutus punched him/caught him off guard but somehow that doesnt matter?

He controlled it before he got attacked though. He was able to open his eyes. He was just defenseless there . It's compete and utter ownage and it's ok. Happens to anyone.

Not if he saw the punch coming, no. And yes, he should be fast enough to brace since he possess super speed. He obviously saw Brutus. Brutus was able to say an entire sentence before punching him.

🙂

Let's see how things pan out.

My theory (unsupported) is that the world they are on, jacks street levellers up and heralds down.

Black Canary got amped:

Hawkgirl feels amped:

Aquaman fainted straightaway lol:

And Batman manifested.....some weird shadow power:

Let's see. Maybe (MAYBE - I am perfectly capable of being wrong) Superman has no superspeed, or at least, they are dampened.

Or Brutus is just that fast.

Although, lol at saying a whole sentence as an indication of speed.

You didnt answer my question though 🙂 . You are the one who made two contradictory claims. One saying hes defenseless thus it should matter to the fight. And the other saying it doesnt matter.
Also the comic made clear this world somehow affects their powers. Some get amped some get dampened/out of control. Superman as shown in the comic was the later. He needed to focus on controlling his heat vision while Brutus punched him. And its safely assuming Brutus also has superspeed given how easily he manhandled Black Adam
Edit: DS ninjaed me lol

Dark made a lot of assumptions. Until we get clarity on any of that, the scene is as is. If I said he was defenseless then I didn't mean that. He saw the punch coming and had time to react. His heat vision wasn't going bonkers during the punch. Hey, I'm not throwing what I saw on you. You can take the scene any way you want. I know if Hulk in one panel was shooting out gamma blast and then he gained control of his killing technique and saw a punch from Abomination coming right at him, I wouldn't say Hulk was weakened, lol. Especially with no proof.

But we know that talking isn't always a good indicator of speed.
