Why wouldn't Darkseid just snuff out the possible usurpers? Like he should definitely be powerful enough to kill guys like Eclipso, Nekron and maybe even Upside Down Man by himself. Kill them to limit your rivals. Why focus on anything else?

Who's to say darkseid is above Nekron, Empty Hand, or even Upside-Down Man? Eclipse would be the only clear win for Darkseid, imo.

Not 100% confirmed, no. Could certainly be something else.

But GEB would make the most sense(if they are recycling), given that it was originally touted to be the equal and opposite of the Presence: "[God's] shadow-partner, locked in endless fight"... And considering DC is upping the stakes to fully omniversal in the next event/Crisis, the baddies trying to attain a power equal to that of the Presence would make sense.

Aside from that, GEB was more commonly referred to as "The Darkness" or "The Primordial Darkness" in the original issues. And since Darkseid is lusting over said power here, adding "Great" to its name gives DC a perfect opportunity to call this "The Great Darkness Saga (part deux)" or some shit. /shrug

Didnt JLD refer GEB as The Great Darkness iirc?

Surfer just received an amp. The Herald he is fighting was said to be Norrin equal. He snatched all of that power from him and put it into himself. Hopefully future writers remember this...

Doom/Jim Jaspers

I love how Doom thinks he is intimidating, yet is treated casually.

MJJ and Fury have really dropped their stocks haven't they

Never really liked this scene.

Yes, Overman is an alternative Superman nazi. Billy was still being a dick, since he was only trying to protect him from a cosmic vampire Monitor who hid that aspect from all of them.

It's not like Billy haen't seen his share of different realities, and he has no idea if Overman himself personally murdered anyone or merely grew up in a dystopia.

Not sure.

Would be crazy if Williamson were to use Vertigo characters like Lucifer, Michael, Morpheus, etc...

only read up to the civil war arc from then, but after spiderman made a deal with mephisto, did that reality reverted back like what happened with the recent heroes reborn arc? is the current reality made by mephisto?

Just Peter I think.

Like that time Spectre erased Wally West having a public identity.

Nice find. 👆

So why doesn't the general public or super human population just assume Spider-Man is a mutant anyways?

It's not like he advertises he was normal before getting bit by a radioactive spider. Seems like anyone else with weird powers just gets assumed as a mutant.

Otherwise why couldn't Angel just telll his folks "It's ok Ma, Pa! I'm not a freak mutant, I was just bitten by a radioactive pigeon!"

not really arguing but, xmen never tagged him as a mutant. iirc?

and people really dont know whos under the mask tbh, unlike most mutants.

if ever the general public did assume he is a mutant. this comes to mind.
