Then why bond in the first place? Loneliness?
You have to consider how they got created and I mean by writers not in the comic universe. It was a new suit for Parker in the beginning, which was later turned into a villain.

But for an attempt in comic science you can say they copy powers, something that was more or less a fan explanation why Venom ha similar powers whic was later officially adapted by writers. And they kinda like bonding? I mean if we go all technical on everything in comcis you'll ruin like 96% of all stuff.

Real Venom fans would also enjoy Venom: The End sneer

I would have if they went with more issues and a more serious approach. Featwise it was wanktastic.

I mean, I guess? It might be canon, but it sounds kinda weaksauce. Some bad attempt at retconning shit because they don't have any clever ideas.

Different environment and the "rules" regarding symbiotes getting changed by writers every 5 seconds.

I know I keep saying it, but it's really their biggest problem. The absolute lack of consistency.

Look how many times it "permanently" bonded with Brock only for it to get turned out to be complete bullshit. And that's just an example.

Sometimes it's loneliness, sometimes it's hunger for adrenaline (literally), sometimes they simply think of hosts as of vehicles.

That marvel murica is a big world, one needs a good car to explore it thoroughly.

And without a host, they're just shapeless goo... which always gets trapped, tortured and used... tl;dr - they don't do well on their own.

JFC... and here I was looking forward to getting in to the character. I mean, I heard you when you said it was inconsistent, but this is on a whole new level.

Guessing my headcanon suggestion was right.

Your problem is that you've just seen the film and you want books to somewhat mimic that.

Comic Venom has much less comic relief and is much more complicated (not always because of the core of the character, rather simply because of writers' meddling with each other's work).

It's still amazing what Marvel has achieved with Venom and symbiotes in general - Eddie is among Parker's TOP 3 super-villains (that alone is a crazy feat, when you consider how huge Parker's rogue gallery is) and symbiotes are really popular among the comic fans. Now he has two movies, too.

But if the right decisions were made (more consistency, less f*ck ups, NOT taking the symbiote away from Eddie for A DOZEN PLUS years), then his comic reputation would be truly solid.

Don't ever accuse me of that again. How dare you, Sir.

I asked because I was interested in the concept of the character more than anything else. I liked him in the 90s TAS, and in his initial first arc starting in 300, but bar that I had very little exposure to him. It's a great idea, but if I'm being honest the movies never really went as far as they could with him, and aren't nearly dark enough.

Only character more inconsistent than Venom is wonder woman lol

90s TAS did him well.

Fun fact... it's twice so far that Sony has lied to us about them being adamant on making Venom films R-rated 😂

Morbius will be PG-13, too facepalm Morbius. The Living Vampire.

FOX succeeded three times with R-rated comic films and Sony wanted to replicate that success, but they keep chickening out. Quite pathetic.

Well, there are always Mungi characters... 😂

But it's better not to mention any of them by name, that comes with the risk of getting diagnosed with every type of cancer known to man.

Tht show did almost everything as good as a cartoon possibly could.

Especially given the nature of the creature. Like, you literally have a cronenberg-esque nightmare creature that could rival any eldritch horror... but no, let's have him whine about chickens.

Morbius being PG-13 is dumb as ****.

All Marvel shows from that time were great.

SS' Thanos has annihilated the whole universe, surpassing his 616 and MCU counterparts.

You're starting to understand my problem with the Venom movies. Especially part 2.

Venom suffers much less from PG-13 rating than Carnage.

He does have his rules, code, perverted sense of honor.

Carnage is basically Joker, just without pranks or feeling gay for the protagonist... and more willing to get his hands dirty.

And then there's the cgi matter... I know for a fact that I'm far from the only kmcer who complained about it.

I'm a few dozen issues in and I have to be honest, I am not liking the knowledge that Venom gets less villainous as time passes.

Pretty much every write jettisons everything which came before. Rucka literally made entire new 52 WW comics non canon, five years of comics were only dreams lol.

He started as a villain, then became an anti-hero (Lethal Protector, Wolverine assraped Brock so hard in one issue that Eddie reconsidered his entire life's choices and villain career) and now... after King of Black saga, it's tough to categorize him. Hero? Godlike being? Or just confused?

He's never become a boyscout or a role model, though.
