I don't see what the issue is?
Per the current arc, every version of Darkseid who has appeared since the original Crisis were essentially lesser fractals of his one, true self. Doesn't really matter what any previous writer-intent may (or may not) have been anymore. The most recent information = the most canon information.
That said, current Darkseid has obviously been propelled to upper-end cosmic status via ALL of his previous iterations/versions/fractals being amalgamated into one vessel. We have literally never seen him operating on this scale before... Therefore any of his previous 'limitations' (or w/e) prior to this arc do not apply to his new/true form.
It would be like saying: "standard Thanos struggled against Odin, so Thanos /w/ THOTI should struggle against Odin as well!!" That's not how it works.

👆and if it makes mr mind feel better, its still totally possible that empty hand will beat darkseid.
But if nothing else, it certainly looks like Darkseid is at least powerful enough to give TEH a damn good fight.

To be fair, Thanosi and Seid-avatars are the examples of the shittiest, laziest writing in superhero comics.Anyone embracing it is a criminal that should be put in the very same prison cell with Carvers, Marwashes and Masterbruces.
Though in hindsight, the fact that a lesser fractal of Darkseid(referring to the FC incarnation) was still powerful enough to flush the entire multiverse down the cosmic toilet is... Pretty absurd.
Originally posted by MrMindApart from the fact that the multiverse was never *just* 52 universes(not really), the even more impressive part is that Darkseid's influence also compressed ALL of time(past/present/future) into a singular moment. So he didn't simply flush the present multiverse down the cosmic shitter; he flushed the whole of spacetime as well. Darkseid achieved a very real and absolute victory there -- a victory that could *only* be undone by a complete multiversal reset(ala the Miracle Machine)... And to think, that was just a mere fractal of Darkseid's true form, lol.
That multiverse in final crisis was only 52 universes though

His slow death was creating a singularity that caused time to collapse on earth which was affecting the multiverse
This is how I understood it. Especially since Anti Monitor in SCW was trying to do something similar

PS. Fun fact --- DC replaced Aquaman and his trident with Flash and a rusty crowbar in Justice League: War.

DC mocks the character every new release week.
By the way, you should consider watching Peacemaker and learning the terrible truth about Arthur.

DS was destroying the multiverse because he was targeting prime earth, which at the time was connected to all the other 52 universesHis slow death was creating a singularity that caused time to collapse on earth which was affecting the multiverse
