Quick, Golgo, make the thread!
*The implication is that the loser(so obvs Oblivion) will effectively be eradicated after their trial by combat has concluded... But like, how would that even work on a conceptual level?
Also, those new trippy forms Marvel abstracts have started morphing into are basically just what happens when they shift into battle-mode, yeah?

This makes all the posting of random scans worthwhile. Also, I would argue Cap Atom is BEYOND Manhattan:

If the former, then that's like one of the best feats in comics.

Gotta say, the usage of Sinister and the artwork elevates this story to a nice horror story.
I just wish it was on a more consistent release schedule... They've only released 3 issues in the past 6 months, and issue #4 doesn't even drop until May. I know Hickman is busy, but goddamn. ermm
Gotta be honest, Doom nuking Bucky's hometown of 20,000 people to frame him is pretty phucked up. It's one thing to lead Bucky by his nose into a trap after he was warned not to meddle. But Doom did the same with the Avengers and HYDRA. Difference is, Doom did show up in-person to save innocent people from HYDRA when they went full kamikaze.
Just kinda expected Doom to detonate the nuke above Shelbyville or something. Nope. Just let the nuke drop and killed them all.

It's kinda weird.

But ever since The Black Monday Murders (fantastic read, btw) was put on [maybe indefinite?] hiatus before it reached a proper conclusion to the second arc, I get nervous whenever I see one of Hickman's books start getting longer delays. I know mid-series cancellations are less likely to happen with big two titles, but he also took like 7+ years to wrap-up S.H.I.E.L.D., iirc.
So yeah, I just don't want to see AvA go in that direction, is all. *crosses fingers*

Storm being the key player in a bonafide cosmic-level story does seem odd/random when they have better(or at least more fitting) options available, imo.
It works for characters like Surfer, Thor, Captain Marvel, Phoenix, Quasar, etc. because many of their stories are oriented on a cosmic scale anyway... But Storm =/= those guys in that respect, so the whole premise just seems a bit out of place for her. It's starting off good enough, though.
On that note, I loved Doom's comically nonchalant dismissal of Storm here:
dc cosmology has been revised on placing higher than marvel in vsbattles again
all order has been restored in the universe
dc has far more tier high 1A and the only tier 0 out of the two verses

LT sneaks up behind oblivion to wack his snake head is hilarious to me

If it's good enough for the Beyonders....That page with the LT hammering the Oblivion snake is kinda funny. Also, Eternity just sending random poor saps to fight in their place (despite losing 12 times previously) against a universal abstract is.....also unintentionally hilarious.
random poor sap? how dare you that's eternal maddniss the insane!
