The original Lovecraft novels actually don't have some really big cosmology(since the novels actually are very short comparatively), right?

Later, other writers build on his original ideas, but there aren't really official lines on what is canon and what isn't canon...at least, based on the research I did on internet

there are some feats from the book

for example azathoth, the boundless entity that rules over all gods across all existence, in his somber sleep he creates multiverses with every breath he takes.
creations rise and falls in a whim at his mercy

Out in the mindless void the daemon bore me,
Past the bright clusters of dimensioned space,
Till neither time nor matter stretched before me,
But only Chaos, without form or place.
Here the vast Lord of All in darkness muttered
Things he had dreamed but could not understand,
While near him shapeless bat-things flopped and fluttered
In idiot vortices that ray-streams fanned.

They danced insanely to the high, thin whining
Of a cracked flute clutched in a monstrous paw,
Whence flow the aimless waves whose chance combining
Gives each frail cosmos its eternal law.
“I am His Messenger,” the daemon said,
As in contempt he struck his Master’s head.

~ Fungi from Yuggoth, XXII. Azathoth

In classical horror fashion Lovecraft doesn't elaborate on the cosmology in detail. Most of the obsession from power scalers come from Through the Gates of the Silver Key which was a collaboration between H.P. Lovecraft and E.H. Price.

I remember how stuck up his own ass Lovecraft's writing is.

it was 100 years ago, people back in the day talk with sticks up their asses

Makes you wonder if she created Father Time and Mother Night as well...

It's not guaranteed that they're still around, they could've been unmade at the end of Overture with the dream.

if we go in anime, when they cry can sorta compete.

Umineko is not an anime, it's a visual novel.

marvel isn't in the same league though, marvel can't even crack top 10

Marvel is definitely above DC when it comes to the cosmic scene. No doubt about it. And it's going to be made even clearer now when we're getting a grounded explanation of the chronology.

The Monitor, the Anti-Monitor, and the World Forger are not particularly powerful unless they're relying on external power sources. They're not like the Marvel abstracts.

when they cry has anime, many seasons in fact

DC dominates Marvel - accept it. Embrace it. Let it wash over you.

DC cosmology>>>Marvel

it's never.. ever.. going away.

Lucifer Morningstar can solo the entire marvel omniverse. I know this statement violates some people here and challenge their existence. but they just need to relax and embrace it.

I will open up a thread next month and present the beauty of vertigo cosmology and show how much bigger dc multiverse/omniverse is compared to marvel's

he gets +25 points since galan is the truth and galan knows all, marvel can't crack top 10. he doesn't say it because he's a gentlemen but still..

Marvel abstracts got their assess handed to them by an Earth storm god lol.

And DC abstracts while amped are getting taken out by an exploding car. Which one is worse?

Is there anything stupider than fans arguing about relative size of fictional cosmologies?

Battleboard debates are one thing, but that's another

Stare at my dc and marvel.

Meet me in the Zod vs Wonder Woman thread.

Definitely the Marvel ones lol. You're stupid.

Stupid? Sure. But that's a bit too nondescript. Profoundly autistic would be more apt, since not even the writers give a flying **** about it. So all you end up with is farfetched fan theories loosely based on isolated terms and loose parallels to metaphysics that tend to contradict the overarching narrative more times than it supports it.

If you look at the few writers that tried to organize it like Starlin or Ewing for Marvel, or Morrison or Snyder for DC, it always ends up being too restrictive for the average power scale autist. I still remember when MrMind showed me a stream of Imaginary Axis and Scott Snyder, and to call the sheer amount of damage control and reactance a sobering experience would be an understatement.

Speaking of Morrison, I remember him saying the DC cosmology >> Marvel's. He's worked for both companies. Both companies have a vast amount of cosmics, but I'd lean towards DC on this.

astner, you were arguing against dc composite history
you were arguing against vertigo cosmology being included in dc
you were proven wrong time and time again
if you are a man, you admit defeat when you are wrong.

only a coward try to spin it.
