I have a question: Is the void in lucifer comics the same as Overvoid?

Exactly. It just seems to literal because Zod for example has the same powers as Supes without the morality.

I dunno how much backup this has in the comics but I always figured that Zod doesnt have that extra reserve of Unleashed power Superman does because Superman is the only Kyptonian to have absorbed yellow sunlight for a lifetime.

I'm not exactly an expert on Supes...

Don't worry, neither is Carver.

it's been mentioned at least once, yeah. What separates Superman from other Kryptonians has a few explanations over the years. He was genetically modified before birth, or he was the only natural birth on Krypton in generations and so on. Like the rest of Superman's origin though, it tends to get refined and changed over time.

I'm personally a fan of the Johns idea: That Superman is essentially a generic Kryptonian that just happened to be raised on Earth by people with a good moral code. A combination that's more than the sum of its parts.

So, X-Men again this week further strengthens the argument that something is seriously wrong with Xavier. Doing that to Mystique is a dick move, especially considering the history of all of the characters involved.

Yeah my favorite explanation is he absorbed a lifetime of sunlight. It's simple and continuity more or less backs it up. Him being a special or a genetically altered Kryptonian isnt necessary to me because the story already tells us what makes Clark different from the rest of his people.

There was also a story about him being a descendent of Rao right?

Yeah I remember that one too. Not really needed imo unless the story is really good.

There's also the fact that Superman is a direct decedent of Ahl.

Exactly, what?

Johns is directly comparing Prime's power to Superman's there:
"Superboy Prime has the powers of Superman..."

Again, the *only* distinction he makes is that Prime's powers aren't neutered by a moral compass, like Superman's are. Hence the last portion of his statement:
"and none of his heroic morality."

I gotta disagree with you guys on this interpretation.

SBP has the same powers as superman like super speed, super strenght, invulnerability same powers but sbp is at a greater level.

Superman even mentioned once when he went against zod in the pocket dimension about how he like superboy prime was stronger than him. They all had the same powers but at a different degree.

Superman can exceed sbp because he's superman but random encounter sbp will win

1). That was Byrne-Era Superman
2). That was not Superboy Prime
3). The point of that scene was to show that Byrne era Superman was no longer Pre-Crisis levels.

That was 30 years ago (holy........shit). It has no bearing on what Superman is today.

Superman is Superman

That's... Not what Johns said, though.

Sigh

Please, carv... Feel free to remedy my ignorance of the quote. 🙂

Let's start here. Do you agree or disagree with Superman?

And to clarify: I am only referring to the statement Johns made there.

Make sense but on panel showings usually overwrite statements made by writers even though I still dont think that statement means what you all are saying. Gladiator, Hyperion, Prime, Zod, and Majestic all have Superman like powers.
