You should give us the issue numbers, if you want some deep analysis from us.
Anyway, writers are only humans - flawed - and as such they often contradict their own work.
Claremont was no exception.

Has nobody over there read Action Comics? If an artist I like is drawing a book I'm vaguely familiar with, I'm definitely more interested.
Hell, I only really started reading Johns's run on GL because Ivan Reis was doing the art (having previously done Action Comics).
it's funny because 10 years ago it's the exact opposite, supes was getting praised to beat teams or multiple heralds level over there and supes was struggling here. I swear these things just keep going in circles. wonder what the general consensus was like decades ago (before internet), regarding superman's power level.

Agree 100%.Bad artwork can absolutely kill a comic for me, regardless of how good the story/dialogue is.
Yeah reading something drawn by someone like Stjepan Sejic or Kenneth Rocafort is completely different experience to the John Romita Jr and J. G. Jones of the world

what's your favorite aquaman run? I thought the one they did in early 00s was amazing.

Same. That’s why I never got into the Dark knight from MillerZ I read them, but the artwork was so bad I can’t see myself ever opening that book ever again.
frank miller's batman is overrated.
I did not enjoy reading any of his dark knight series one bit

That surprises me. Before the New 52, we had stuff like New Krypton, and that wasn't exactly bursting with feats. I mean, yeah, he was still Post-Crisis Superman at the time, but it wasn't a great spell.

For me the absolute pinnacle is Peter David's run (starting with Time and Tide). Without his redesign of the character and the mythos, Aquaman wouldn't be anywhere close to where he is nowadays.
After him? Geoff Johns's New 52 run is reallty good. The late 90s/early 00s by Abnett and Lanning is very good too. And Morrison treated him with a lot of respect any time he wrote him in a JLA book.
Rebirth has been... not great, to say the least. New 52 was fine for the most part, but it suffered as it went on imo.
Skill wise, there's this:
Guess that strips away his meta abilities....maybe not his speed

All right, I have a question: How skilled is Deathstroke? I mean in pure martial arts. I mean, I know he's good, but strip away his strategy/tactics, his meta abilities and so on. In pure skill, where do we put him?
That's the problem with Shitstroke.
Take away his prep and toys and you just have an old man unable to keep up with the youngsters he's desperately trying to molest.

Cassie relies too much on her body-reading ability she's inherited from her mother.
She had trouble with the Joker, too.
