Oh!!
I like rebirth.

Marvel just does outer space type cosmic stories much better

DC has a fixation of focusing their outer space stories on lanterns. And rainbow color lanterns based off their abilities on emotional spectrum is boring as fuk. Hey here's this color and look what this color can do. It's retarded grade school crap

Where John's retcon parallax one of DC Greatest villain ever to a giant yellow bug, and job spectre just for fun after all the respect Dematteis puts on hal's spectre

You get arrogant hal punching Batman thinking he's cool beating on someone who has no superpower

Rebirth Was trash

I liked age of Ultron.

I wouldn't call Johns' Green Lantern run a failure, Though I do hope only a yellow lantern corps roaming around in DCU instead of a bunch of rainbow color lanterns
Johns sucks at writing cosmic beings imo( Aside from Manhattan maybe?) but I don't blame him for jobbing SBP since the shazam run certainly got shrunk/cancelled by recent DC layoffs

so whats the difference here in this instance

😂 writers error?

The question still stands.

Yeah, the problem with that is, we all sort of knew that already (and I'm sure that includes you). The problem, for me, is that Doomsday Clock tried to tell a meta story in a relatively mundane physical world, and Johns brought across concepts he really shouldn't have.

There's a reason Morrison wrote Superman Beyond as happening beyond the borders of our reality.

How is hal not Mary sue, guy has the personality of a wet blanket

You don't read green lantern do you, Pr?

I do, but even if I didn't, I know what an actual Mary Sue is. And a mary sue, Hal is not... unless they've massively retconned him in the last year or two, that is.

I'm not saying you have to like the guy. Feel free to hate him. Just be accurate about it. That's all I ask.

Maybe try Kyle's run under Ron Marz?

I don't recommend Hal's run in the late 80s/early 90s.

Good point.

None, lantern stories suck

Marvel is way better at writing galactic heroes

Easily. 👍
Smartest thing you've said. Not just galactic heroes, but more darker/adult aswell. Marvel actually tends to primarily deal with genocide, racism and government overreach or constitutional violations. Marvel deals with real world darkness while DC tends to have a more horror movie type of fantastic darkness.

Outside of Batman books, WW and Lanterns (Hal and Kyle can't seem to keep their shit together despite being will personified) how many DC books truly have dark themes? Superman is a paragon. Booster, Guy and Blue Beetle aren't serious. Darksied is ultimately simplistic, cuz he's a bad for the sake of being bad. Harley is violent but it's more gruesome slapstick than true darkness. In all honesty, most DC darkness is an artificial high fantasy type of darkness like BWL. As far as overarching themes, Marvel skews much more toward the darkness that exists in reality. Thematically, (the true measure) they are different kinds of dark. As for writing, I see no difference. Batman has no sense of humor and realistically, he makes everyone around him funnier because of it. Ollie, the Lanterns (except John) etc are always joking. objectively, DC books have just as many one liners as Marvel. They just don't come from anyone in the Trinity.

What's funny is, in the DC verse, the Trinity is potentially ripe for earth turning against them, much like the original Civil War Marvel arc. Batmen openly flaunts his disregard for law and Superman s collateral damage scale is incredible. Also, unlike Marvel, a lot of DC rogues tend to exist BECAUSE of the heroes.

I don't think Marvel will have another impressive cosmic event or ongoing within the next 5 years. As much as Cates can wank his pet characters he hates everyone else and can't write a good bad guy besides Thanos and Knull. And he's like the top guy now.

And the Thanos story he's setting up looks like absolute trash. It looks like that guy who made the Goku vs Superman thread with all the powerups ever.

this is what snyder is doing to current dc cosmology

All Snyders are garbage except for Dee Snider.

I want to be Morrison but I also want my story to go on endlessly while I escalate the threat every couple of months. It wasn't good enough that this character is unbeatable, I want this character to be even more unbeatable and then turn this unbeatable character into fodder.

Sounds good.

Thanos leading the Marvel Zombies with an Infinity Mjolnir and a black gauntlet that I don't have the slightest idea of what it might be.

Is it the actual Marvel Zombies or just generic zombies in the marvel universe?
