a Non-Weakened Thor from the 80s and 90s had problems fighting Frost Giants, let alone a squad of them.

And since when is Thor struggling with someone a feat for someone? Read some classic Avengers stories, Thor might as well be Rhino the way he jobbed to literally every villain.

Punisher used a combo of magic swords and special ammo (Uru rounds, Sodium rounds, Depleted Uranium rounds, H.E.A.T. rounds, titanium rounds) against those Frost Giants. Even then, he had problems.

Even Asgardians of Average level or below have gotten injured by AP rounds. IIRC, Hogun the Grimm was once mortally wounded by such rounds years ago.
