But he was actually quoting a legit researcher on a topic he was trying to make a point about? That's amazing. That's exactly what I want politicians to do. They should be experts on their primary platform. They should be immersed in the research...and readily quote it during congressional debates just like this.

Not sure how I feel about Snopes giving a "mixed" verdict on this.
If the context is wrong, and the statement is butchered, and the speaker was quoting someone elses work, that should probably merit a "false."
Pretty sure there's been other instances where quotes were taken out of context, and recieved a "mostly false."

But then again, you're essentially on the right, we scrutinize how politicians communicate because that's about as factual as we are going to get to guess how they will fare in a government without looking at their past mandates.
