Why discuss them here? Most people on here are Americans who couldn't point to my country on a map, let alone know anything about them.I rarely make threads about anything. Even under my original account I made about 50 threads in 12 years.

Like I said, looks like you really don't care about those issues.
If the people on this board were interested in big issues outside the US then the Brexit thread would be continuously near the top of the GDF. As it stands, they don't even care about big issues within the US and would rather discuss irrelevant nonsense like in this thread.

This issues seems pretty important in the sense that people wanted to justify beating these kids up and I bet maybe even kllling them. Which means if anybody in the US has the wrong political veiws you can be attacked or killed. Even if these kids were racist it doesn't justify that, but what makes it worse is that these kids are not what people claimed they were and people jumped to conclusions.
This topic is important.

It's funny how ridiculously angry both sides continue to get over this utter non-issue. You'd be forgiven for thinking there wasn't actual serious problems to care about.
Actually, the irresponsibility of the media (w/c practically controls all intellectual discourse in society) and the negative effects of social media when used irresponsibly is a very serious problem facing not just the US. It also brings into light the toxicity of partisan politics and proves to everyone how one event can be seen drastically different from one to another.
Not exactly world peace or climate change. But still, I’d say there’s some importance in all this. At least something that can be learned.

Why should Americans care about other countries problems before their own?
The US right now is on a tipping scale, and the wrong move will cause a shockwave that will effect the World. So it would be smart for Americans to care for their Country first.
This goes for any form of free society.

Yet they would rather spend time arguing about hats and the offensiveness of pro-nouns.
Saying “my point proven^” does not prove anything beyond your inability or unwillingness to debate points. If you are unable or unwilling to offer a rebuttal, just say so.
A rebuttal to what? Whether a kid with a smug face and a MAGA hat face to face with an warbling old man with a drum is the front lines in the culture war? It's not
My argument was how about how angry idiots get over this non issue. The fact that you're going on about death threats to kids proves what?
That's right....say it with me now.
That idiots are getting far too angry about this non-issue.
