As far back as I can remember, I knew it was a thing for people, in transition, to have to function as the opposite sex for 1-2 years including using the restroom. It didn't seem to be a big deal until recently.

That is specifically being called for and there is an easy solution: just don't f*cking do it lol. Just do not allow grown ass men into the ladies rooms. It's that easy to do. Which is why it is generally considered safer for mothers to bring small boys into the women's bathroom than it is for fathers to bring small girls into the men's bathroom assuming not family restroom is available. There was a sign at a city Rec Center where I used to work out that said something similar to, "Stop bringing your daughters into the men's locker room unless they are infants."
