It doesnt really matter though, because the election hasnt happened yet and we dont even know who the democratic nomiee is going to be, so that poll could be completely erased by whoever the nomiee is, if its not biden.

What are you going to do if you use this poll the whole time, this time and it ends up being wrong? What will you do then?

Correct, the point of the IB/TIPP poll is because Biden right now is the favorite, if that changes, so be it.

Really depends by how far it's off, if it's wrong but within a reasonable margin of error, there's nothing wrong with that.

Even when I mention polls I usually say I don't put much stock in them either way. I point them out because the left seems to embrace them so much.

And gee, wouldn't you know it: you point out a leftist who uses polls a lot in videos.

So it's different when you cite polls (aka Pulling-a-Trumper). Gotcha

The only way it's not different is if you don't really put much stock in the poll you posted.

Now, as I've said, I don't put much stock in polls. Though if you want to discuss them, we have this recent one:

Elizabeth Warren Surges to Statistical Tie With Joe Biden in New National Poll

I suppose that is intriguing if you buy into these polls.

Warren has been creeping up for a while now. Not terribly surprising that she is now up there with Biden. Will be interesting to see if she suprasses him at some point, or if this poll is just an anomaly.

Can't say I'm terribly confident in Warren's ability to beat Trump, I think Biden would have an easier time, as would Sanders, but I guess we'll see how the primaries play out.

Can a mod add Andrew Yang to the list of options?

I will probably be voting for Yang after reviewing his platform.

I just did.

Afterwards it randomly took me to the pirates of the carribean forum.

Good times.

Why not Mariane Williamson. She’s the best one they got.

Why not Mariane Williamson. She’s the best one they got.

Because, after reviewing all of Yang's platform and solutions (he offered solutions, and a ton of them, unlike other candidates who talk about problems), I see that Yang and I have a huge overlap in our position. Looks like it is 80% or more. Which is even more of an overlap than Ron Paul and I.

Also, Yang's approach is very science-based. He backs up his positions with research.

Yang and I disagree on some things, however.

Williamson is a social justice warrior to the max.

This should be evidence enough that she's a moronic SJW:

People of color make up more than 60 percent of the people behind bars. Though only 13 percent of the U.S. population is black, they make up 40 percent of the incarcerated population. Latinos account for 16 percent of the overall population but make up 19 percent of incarcerated people.

https://www.marianne2020.com/issues/criminal-justice-reform

Meanwhile, people of color, minus first generation immigrants and Asians, commit almost all crime. Almost all of it. They are incarcerated at rates lower than the white population based on victimization reporting.

I don't want a leader who uses science to lie like this.I don't want a moronic SJW in office.

Let's visit her crime prevention:

https://www.marianne2020.com/issues/crime-and-violence-prevention

What we are lacking is the willpower to invest in serious violence-prevention programs.

The federal government can support violence prevention through funding of course, but also through coordination, research, and sharing of best practices. We need to address whole systems and foster collaboration among federal, state and local agencies.

She didn't present a solution at all. This is meaningless. There are no solutions in this. This is vaguery upon vaguery.

However, she does get into more details if you go further down with actual solutions.

But here's where she goes off the deep end and why she's unelectable:

As president, I would support the establishment of a US Department of Peace...

Just what we need: another useless new federal department.

Here's where I completely disconnect with her:

here is a growing consensus in America that climate change is an existential emergency. As President, I would argue, in no uncertain terms, that rapid, man-made climate change and global warming represents a clear and present danger to our people, to our democracy, and to the world at large.

...

As president, I would immediately re-enter the Paris Climate Accords — while simultaneously working to expand talks to push for even more meaningful and enforceable agreements.

Transition away from fossil fuel energy and halt all new fossil fuel projects...by 2040

De-carbonize buildings by 2050.

Transition away from the domestic use of nuclear energy. We do not need nuclear energy to fulfill our energy needs.

What a complete moron. She's an idiot, an SJW, and she will ruin our economy with anti-science and retardedness. She looks like the prime candidate for what's wrong with Democrats.

Bernie Sanders is in the hospital. Awful, hope he recovers. This is breaking news and as of now I am not sure if he intends to transfer to a hospital in Havana, will keep you guys updated.

I heard about that already. Yeah, I may not like his politics but I hope he makes a speedy full recovery.

It sounds like he's feeling much better after having stents inserted to clear an artery blockage. He's taking a few days to recover before returning to the campaign.

For whatever reason, I can't formally quote your post, and it's so extensive I wouldn't quote the whole thing anyway ... but damn, man. Why aren't you writing a book? I may not agree with all points (eg, I'm not so sure Medicare for all would be ideal; I mean, I personally like my private insurance), but your well-considered posts always give food for thought.

EDIT: I think Biden is right on target in that, no Democrat ideas will be implemented until Trump Is Out. Unseating him is the Apex Objective. And in terms of 'elect-ability', I think the best way back to our normal universe is through the Uncle Joe wormhole, taking a younger, more progressive VP with him. This way, he can voluntarily Not seek a second term and allow the torch to be passed on to the next generation.

I greatly appreciate this. I am participating in an anti-corruption group I formed here in Tulsa OK. I am working on making my ideas and the ideas of the Anti-Corruption groups, official. I am trying to walk the walk in addition to talking the talk.

And that's what is important: that the ideas are carefully thought-out, researched, planned, and come from a position of truly making America a better place while preserving the maximum amount of individual liberty. If people based policies and regulations on true Quantitative Risk Management frameworks and always came from a place of science, we woudln't end up with expensive regulations that only prevent 1-2 deaths a year (kinder egg surprises) but deaths caused to millions (looking at you, pharmaceutical industry) of people are not properly addressed. We knee-jerk react to too much b.s. and don't do science-based policy making on the important issues.

We are too worried about Trump's tweets.

Agreed. While the Dems are crapping all over Biden (and he may be involved with some corrupt practices), he's the only one injecting reality into the Democratic policies. He's saying things like, "How can you pay for all this shit? What is wrong with you people?"

Yang is the guy for what you suggest. Yang is really a technocrat with a democratic tag. Not sure if Biden is the scrupulous (he's rather unscrupulous, really), clean candidate we need, though.

I should have.

I have miserably and my disappoint is immense.

Seems Warren has passed Biden in popularity. Pick your flavour:

Warren passes Biden to lead 2020 Democrats by 4 points in weekly national poll

Warren passes Biden in new nationwide poll

What’s Behind Elizabeth Warren’s Rise In The Polls?

Warren edges Biden in average of recent 2020 polls

Clearly we need to give Warren and Biden each a rusty razor blade and let them fight it out.
