2020 Presidential Election Discussion

Seems Trump's smear campaign against Joe might have had a hand in it, just enough to tip it. Which I get, Trump has a better chance of beating Warren than Biden.

Will be funny if Warren ends up with the nom and she wins it in 2020 regardless.

Seems Warren has passed Biden in popularity. Pick your flavour:

Warren passes Biden to lead 2020 Democrats by 4 points in weekly national poll

Warren passes Biden in new nationwide poll

Warren edges Biden in average of recent 2020 polls

Trump approval is back on the upswing. And he didn't drop below 45%.

Unless they pull a miracle, I don't see a Dem winning.

Would love to see a healthy Bernie take Trump to task in debates in the general election, though. Nothing would be more satisfying than watching a man (Bernie) who is as close to Jesus' teachings of any current candidate, actually own one of the most evil presidents we've ever had in office. Bernie has the spunk (lol, gross) to go toe-to-toe with Trump's caustic and destructive mouth.

You and me both, DDM. Sanders is nothing short of inspiring, and I will be profoundly disappointed in my fellow Americans if they can't see past the word "socialist" or the "too old, too white" identity politics, or any other retarded bullshit complaints against him, like "he's mean" or "he's not pro-woman".

We should be voting for candidates' ideas, their intent to follow through on those policies, and the benefits to the country as a whole...not party affiliations, personalities, and other superficial details about them.

LOL @ ddd thinking old Bernie would "take Trump to task." lmao

I would almost feel sorry for Bernie going up against Trump in a debate. Trump would chew that old fool up and spit his ass out... guaranteed. 👆

Trump has this election in the pocket, you guys have too much of a crush with him

How was it a smear campaign though?

You mean the same thing the left does on regards to Trump right?

Words like he’s too much of a Capitalist, Nationalist, pro whites. You mean all those bullshits right? Or he’s also mean and not also not pro woman and minorities.

Ain’t that a hoot.

I don't think we're talking about the same thing here.

I was talking about baseless accusations, in regards to Sanders, in the first part of my post; and the need to carefully choose a candidate to vote for based on the merit of their platforms and their intent to carry them out if elected in the second half of my post.

While I will readily admit that many on the Left are too ready to accuse the Right of being fascist and racist in knee-jerk reactions, Trump pretty much fits a lot of the shit he's accused of. One could build a case for him being racist, and a misogynist, and a sociopath, etc. and support it all with his own quotes and actions.

If an accusation can be supported with evidence, that makes it a legitimate criticism...unlike "Oh, Bernie is a socialist! He wants to turn us into Venezuela!" which is just f*cking retarded and based on fear-mongering propaganda, lingering Cold War sentiments, and fear of the unfamiliar...not from a legitimate critical analysis of his policies.

Agreed. Which is why I'm on board with Yang. I extremely rarely vote Democrat and have never voted for Republican (except in local elections for county-offices).

Bernie could utterly destroy Trump in every single way, the entire world would be uniform in agreeing that Bernie destroyed Trump, but you'd be the last person clapping with a serious face about how soundly Trump destroyed Bernie.

Yup. Trump's approval went up to 47%, today.

So what did I see on reddit when I woke up? The Democratic Party working their propoganda machine where they plaster a poll result which said 55% of Americans want to impeach Trump. And the comment sections full of virtue signalers talking about, "It is soooo obvious how bad Trump is!" Democrats are quite easy to figure out once you see their pattern. Wait for something good to happen for Trump. Or the dems to fail in some way. Then you'll see their media and social media work bees getting busy. I'm actually getting tired of Q-Anon tinfoil hatters being right about these things. No one wants to live in a world that Q-Anon talks about because it would be too scary.

"Socialist!" "Communist!", "wants to give your money away!" etc is going to be the Right's attack no matter which Dem wins the nomination in 2020. It's already started. It'll be a repeat of 2008, except turned all the way up to eleven.

That might be the case but recently EW has come out with some ideas for policy that should she win the nominee will make her EZ pickings (for criticism) and hard to elect for more central democrats.

Yang is a distant second or third choice in the primaries for me, depending on how I'm feeling about Warren at the time. I like the idea of UBI, but I'm not sold on Yang's plans for funding and distribution. I give him credit for addressing automation's effect on society, though.

Wish I could discuss at length, but I've got a flight to catch.

Right now Warren is running on a reparation platform for multiple groups in addition to her very social platform. She is not going to do well if she wins the primaries.

This is likely to try and distance herself and stand out from the others in the primary.

I'm sure it is but she is building baggage that will be difficult to carry past primaries. Heritage, pregnancy teacher bit and reparation as a prime platform in addition to her far-left adherence will make her terrible in a presidential campaign.

Speaking of Warren, have people heard about this story:

I believe she said she was denied a promotion due to a pregnancy?

Watch the vid if you have 10 minutes. Her story changes, she turned it down.
