Looking at that chart I saw only one thing. One worked hard for his money, he was able to create multiple platforms to reach his consumers.
Then you have millionaires politicians that begs said billionaire for his money, becomes rich of the back of the tax papers, and ever worked any real jobs in their life time.

Good on Yang for saying no.

It is. But watch these anti-intellectual right-wing pundits still come in here and call Bernie Sanders a hypocrite. Just watch.
Bernie is worth more than I am, for sure.
But when I'm his age, I'll be worth much more than that even if I make the same amount of money I do now.
It's a reasonable net-worth. He should be worth more if you know how many endorsements and deals senators get. And he's been a career politician for decades.
He's done really well to live modestly considering his opportunities. So he's either doing this on purpose or he's terrible with money. lol

I call bullshit.
1. So you think Bernie is worth much more than that with his 3 homes?
2. Or are you saying that me, an upper middle class US Citizen, has no way of being worth $2.5 million when I retire?
If 1, then I agree. He might be worth much more than $2.5 million and the numbers are lies. With his tenure, any book he writes would make him more than that in cash.
If 2, then I'll point you to the fact that you can't even retire, now, with only $2.5 million. If by your mid 30s, you haven't accumulated more assets than $100k, you're doing something wrong or you're working jobs that do not pay very well. If by 67, you do not own $500k or more in assets, excluding retirement, you're going to likely have to work the rest of your life.
Use this calculator to see how much you need to retire:
I'm wondering why we're now discussing Bernie's wealth because before we were discussing his comments about Cuba and Castro so what is the connection?
But if it *needs* to be discussed: Bernie is a multi-millionaire. This will not be disputed. The fact others who are running for president are also millionaires or billionaires does not magically alter that fact.

Because it's irrelevant and I really don't give a shit.
It's obvious that Cuba and Castro did some good things, from a policy perspective. And understanding both the nuance and context of Bernie's comments is easy. There's no word games that need to be played.
To put it bluntly, it's intellectually dishonest to pretend Sanders is bad because of his comments about Communist Cuba.

He is not. His assets total to $2.5 million.
He has 3 homes. Add in his car or cars, jewelry, retirement options, bam: easy to get to $2.5 million. Any middle-middle class person, by his age, should have more than that if they wish to retire without going into abject poverty and starving. Literally every single blue collar employee, at the company I am at, who retired last year, had more than this to retire with win their stock options/401k retirement plans. All of them worth more than Sanders especially if you add in their homes, cars, etc.
You need a home, a car, retirement, and other assets to live. In a poor area, you could get by with a net worth of $250k. In an expensive area, probably $2million. That's not including your retirement. Just depends.
Guess how much a 2000 square foot home costs in San Fran or New York City?

$2.6 million. Bam, own one home, NYC, you already have a net worth higher than Sanders. Pay it off in 30 years on a 30 year conventional home loan with a $350k down payment:

There's all your evidence you need. This is what adults do, these days, who have jobs and bills. We use the internet to figure out what to get, how much it will cost, and where we want to live.
When you reach your mid 30s, you should have a net worth around $250k-$500k, imo. That includes your home, cars, retirement, etc. If you have 0 retirement by the time you're in your mid 30s, you've been planning poorly and it will majorly suck when you retire.
