At normal speeds that makes sence, since space is enormous. But light covers vast amounts of space in very little time, the larger the distance you cover the higher the chances (it's common sense).
The scientist themselves admit to ignore the amout of asterioids and meteors in interstellar distances. You saying that the odds are non-existant is unproven.
Again, I never said the odds are large, I said there were odds.
It's just stupid to think Carol would be traveling blindfolded. Again, not saying she's got ultra reaction speeds, but she's got to have some very decent ones.
