I don't know where this romanticization of journalists comes from where we're supposed to view them as these morally incorruptible saviors who "speak truth to power" or some shit and how anyone who criticizes large portions of the media is suddenly an authoritarian...But here's the real truth of the situation, the media doesn't just "speak truth to power," they are a power in and of themselves and they deserve criticism in the same way politicians, or CEOs, or religious institutions do.
I'd like to know where the stupidity in not knowing what real fascism is also comes from.

So you are against the media in America and you would rather get your news frim somewhere else. This seems a bit paranoid against our own free society.
Because another element of a free society is freedom of speech, and that includes the right of the citizen to criticize media actors. They should not be treated like some special protected class who must never be criticized.
In the same way me criticizing an elected politician isn't me seeking to undermine democracy, me criticizing a member or multiple members of the media isn't me arguing against press freedom.

Personally I think the answer to this is free market competition. The expansion of the dialogue to the point where the traditional media cease to be gatekeepers of political discourse and news.

Libtards are so smart they think cutting someones dick off makes them female.
They are so inconsistent in a variety of things it borderlines on parody.
"Trump is destroying democratic norms!"
"Let's pack the courts!"
"Thoughts and prayers don't solve anything"
"Lets shout at the sky in impotent rage cuz our fee fee's are hurt"
"Saying all lives matter is wrong and misses the point"
"It's totally okay we ducked out of a resolution on anti-semitism and just condemned all hate"
I could go on and on.

And I can see why some people would consider them the enemy of the American people when people of a similar point of view and principle to myself could predict that if we were public political figures we would be constantly smeared as alt-right the way people like Jordan Peterson, Ben Shapiro, and Carl Benjamin are.

Not to mention a better format to actually delve into things.
Cable news has these little segments, whereas on youtube for example you can get several longform conversations between people who disagree, or detailed explanations of what a person believes.
