Sure you'd have more people spewing bullshit, but you'd also have more people to challenge the bullshit, a wider range of perspective. Not to mention a better format to actually delve into things.
Cable news has these little segments, whereas on youtube for example you can get several longform conversations between people who disagree, or detailed explanations of what a person believes.
I'm going to disagree, I think it leads to weird shit like the most disenfranchised of society seeing themselves as woke and justifying their stupidity with ideas like, "get woke, go broke".

So you are against the media in America and you would rather get your news frim somewhere else. This seems a bit paranoid against our own free society.

Go down to Rick Lockridge. A former CNN correspondent on the tech scene talks about how AOL corporate culture clashed with CNN service culture. Solid news reporting went out the window in favor of frothing at the mouth sensationalism and opinionated rhetoric.
Like Fox.
It's an illuminating article, and it's probably par for the course, as virtually all the news on tv is likewise owned by faceless megacorporations all concerned with trying to out Fox Fox. Solid but boring journalism isn't seen as the way of doing this, unfortunately.

Cue the expected tomfoolery.
You realize you could say Trump is an enemy of the people while also saying he lies cuz it's part of his personality, right?
But then you're not after any discussion in good faith.

Yes, you could I guess. But you'd never say "Trump is the enemy of the people" so what's your point here.
I'm curious, why should someone like me not consider the mainstream media an enemy when I've seen them repeatedly slander people who hold the same principles as me as alt-right?
Because at that point I know that if I were a public figure, it would be reasonable to assume they would lie about me in much the same way as they lie about people like Jordan Peterson.
Why should I not consider the people who would unfairly characterize and smear me as a white supremacist my enemies?

Considering that today media (comprised of journalists) have never have had as much power as they currently do in the history of the world, the influence they possess is much greater than an individual leader of a country no matter how powerful that country is.
With that said I don't need to excuse Trump's lies and shenanigans, as a matter of fact, HTF does he still have a twitter account

And this toxic leftism has spread and you can see evidence of it on this very board: people legit thinking you and I are alt right.

Well I guess my point is that I'm 100% certain you view Trump as an enemy of the people, but you'll never say the MSM is.Feel free to prove me wrong 🙂
So I was correct, you'd never say "Trump is the enemy of the people" because he's a pathological and compulsive liar like you do with any journalist you deem as a 'leftist".
Correct, I'd never blanket such a large and diverse group of journalist as being all liars; that would be stupid. The ones that intentionally do lie and continue to do so, sure.
Originally posted by snowdragonI see what you are saying but I disagree a little, I think the msm was at its strongest when everyone read a newspaper.

And yea, I know like Bada and Imp you're a reasonable and moderate rightist and whilst I may not always agree with you, you are not going to condone a lot of the shit Trump pulls.

Because you're painting a very broad number of people with your "MSM media" brush.
If you need another analogy, you're letting a bad apple spoil the bunch.
You're being overly sensitive, no one believes you're actually "Alt-Right" at this point.

SO we were both correct.
