#Gottem

...that about sums it up lol.

An interesting read:

Platform Access Is A Civil Right.

I don't even really mind the fact that twitter unfairly targets conservatives and libertarians specifically as it is their platform, after all.

What bothers me most is how they try to pretend like they're unbiased and are banning right-wingers simply because they are "violating" their "rules" yet many leftists say things much worse and are allowed to keep their accounts. Those who run Twitter and Facebook should just be honest and say they enforce their rules more strictly against conservatives than left-leaning accounts because they don't like them.

I mean yeah, I'd also be okay if they grew a sac and said "we're biased little shits, deal with it". That should be their slogan, in fact.

If you're going to be bias, admit to it. No need to be cowardly.

👆 Amen. This goes for so-called "journalists" at CNN and MSNBC as well. They need to quit pretending to be unbiased after all the untrue shit they've said about Trump and those of us who support him.

At least Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, and Laura Ingraham all admit they're biased.

Just to stir things up, how many people were banned for the #killallmen?

Hopefully lots.

I don't actually follow twitter, so for all I know, everyone that used it might have been suspended.

Does anyone actually know?

Well I use Twitter and I hadn't even heard about that hashtag until you mentioned it.

Also given that they ban lots of people with few followers for supposedly infringing rules (including myself for telling someone to "kill your self" in response to a conversation about ads that use stupid taglines like "find your happy" and "be more dog" and "book yourself fabulous"😉 then I would expect they have banned people for that too.

I am totally going to troll the shit outta that hashtag.

Good to see the female equivalent of incels being noticed. Lol

Still waiting on Videodrome 2.

Muh free market, this is just a private company using their service in the manner they deem best. If you take any issue with it then you're a socialist.

Well...you're not wrong. And I've explained this, before. Twitter doesn't owe anyone anything and it is not free speech to be able to use it.

Agreed

I maintain that they have the right to do so, I'm just going to heavily criticize their decision to do so, in the same way that someone like Richard Spencer has the right to free speech but I will criticize what he says nonetheless.

I'm consistent here. What's interesting is the people who would defend this with one hand, but with the other hand demand that the government force baker make the cake.

Yeah but the problem is wacky things like...why is it okay for our courts to force Trump to unblock people on twitter then?

And if people are owed twitter access to Trump...why then is it okay for twitter to permanently ban anyone from their platform?

We already had this conversation.

It's not okay for the courts to do that and they are wrong. I posted about this in lengthy detail.

I'm conflicted here because it seems like these platforms are becoming more and more akin to the public square and they are run by private corporations.

It's one of the reasons Republicans piss me off, why did they just...let that happen and not fight it more?

And if people wanna say it's hypocritical for conservatives to feel the way they do about social media companies even though they are private companies...it seems just as hypocritical for the left to be suddenly embracing the rights of private corporations lol.

Do you think the country would be better off if social media platforms only banned illegal content?
