One of the things they're considering here is public funding for election campaigns to remove lobbying. The 2 main parties will get the same amount.

The only problem with that is it effectively locks in a 2 party system unless they guarantee the same funding for the smaller parties of which there are lots and the number is growing.

In the UK elections to the European parliament later this month we'll have, off the top of my head,

The Conservative party
Labour
Liberal democrats
Scottish National Party
The Green Party
Plaid Cymru
Democratic Unionist party
Sinn Fein
The Brexit Party
UKIP
Change UK

and that's only the bigger parties. There's a huge number of smaller ones too.
