It's one of the reasons Republicans piss me off, why did they just...let that happen and not fight it more?

It's because Republicans are the same as Democrats. They don't actually care about your rights. They really don't.

Both parties are evil. And should be dismantled.

I should go further and state that you should not support the Republican party just because the Democrats are evil and terrible. That's also making the same mistake.

The dude for 2020. Run as an independent and you sure have my vote!

Yeah I just might not vote at all in 2020.

Slow clap

I maintain that they have the right to do so, I'm just going to heavily criticize their decision to do so, in the same way that someone like Richard Spencer has the right to free speech but I will criticize what he says nonetheless.

I'm consistent here. What's interesting is the people who would defend this with one hand, but with the other hand demand that the government force baker make the cake.

Exactly. That's the hypocritical left for ya.

That's how we got Trump and Hillary tickets.

If every independent voted for something other than a D or an R, we wouldn't have a D or and R in the White House.

Who do you intend to vote for? Who did you vote for in 2016?

I voted for Gary Johnson in 2016.

I will vote for not a D or and R in 2020. It doesn't matter, yet. Gotta wait until late this year, early next year, to know for sure who I will actually vote for.

I don't know much about the independents. May I ask what it was about Gary that made you vote for him?

A 74% overlap in our political positions is what made me vote for him according to the "I Side With" quiz I took on 3 separate occasions throughout the 2016 election period.

Massive prison reform, ending foreign wars, ending the drug war, major tax reform, etc. The obvious low-hanging fruit that any normal and reasonable person agrees with.

It gave us Trump. Oh the horror!

Our country is doing better under him than it's done in a very long time especially economically and militarily and unemployment is the lowest it's been since the late 60's. That's just awful! 🙄

If only Trump was like the last joke of a president and went around apologizing & kissing the asses of every other leader in the world, bending over & taking it up the a** from them, & letting every other country in the world especially China & the EU keep ripping us off!

If that's "how we got Trump" then hopefully people will do it again! 👆

But no, "how we got Trump" is people turned-out to vote for him in record numbers. "But... but... Hillary won the popular vote! *sniff* *sniff*"

Nah, she didn't. Illegals don't count.

What do you say to those who argue it's wrong to vote independent in our current system because it's essentially a wasted vote?

For example, some people have incorrectly tried to say Jill Stein played a role in Hillary's loss.

Better a "wasted" vote, than a vote for either Trump or Hillary.

How can we break out of this 2 party system?

Start voting for people instead of against others. if enough people do that, then eventually either the D/R will start running good candidates or a 3rd party will finally get elected.

The problem is, very few people are willing to look long term.

Do you think how much money it takes to run for president is an issue?

It's a symptom of the problem.
