Alternative title: good guy with gun stops potential mass shooter.
Why is he a potential mass shooter? Could it be because of the weapons he was carrying? Then by that reasoning, we should ban everything he was carrying, and allow only what the firefighter was carrying. Agreed?

Creating gun-free zones where guns are banned an illegal has not worked out very well for any place since the history of everything. Here's what it does: the 99+% of he law abiding citizens are now disarmed and the bad guys who are going to break the law anyway are now armed as much as they want.
It also does not reduce intentional homicides.
Let's bring science into it and have that dictate our gun policies.

Texas has the most lax gun laws in the country, and it did not help in El Paso.

And Adam_Poe is right, too.
Lax gun laws don't stop mass shootings.
Strict gun laws don't stop mass shootings - they just have the occasional potential to stop them from becoming very bad.
Easily accessible healthcare, stability, and good family unit prevents mass shootings and intentional homicides.
-Police then say Andreychenko walked into the Walmart Neighborhood Market where he grabbed a cart and began pushing it around the store. Police say the man was recording himself walking through the store via a cell phone.
The store manager at the Neighborhood Market pulled a fire alarm, urging people to escape the store.
Police say Andreychenko then made his way out an emergency exit where a former firefighter held the man at gunpoint. At that moment Springfield Police arrived on scene and detained the man. -snip
If the above is true: It doesn't sound like this man (who might be retarded) was out to shoot people, let alone an "active shooter", seems he had plenty of time to shoot, had he wanted.
It seems like he was out to film himself and make whatever personal statement, not murder anyone. He's a moron and should be punished with whatever law(s) he broke (I'm assuming Walmarts are gun-free areas?). Using this story as a "good guy with a gun saves the day" is a faulty premise.

Lol well him getting stopped is exactly the kind of shit the left would want. Are they gonna whine over this shit now? Now gun rights concern them? I can't keep up.
Seems that's directed at me, as you posted after my post.
What "der Leftist!" angle are you trying to push now? I said he should be punished for whatever law(s) he broke.

I like how you guys are bending over backwards to suggest this couldn't have turned into a tragedy.Ah well, some people will never be pleased. It's why republicans shouldn't even bother with any new laws, it will never satiate the deranged.
No one said or implied that. Sure, it could have. But then any person using their open-carry right is a potential tragedy/shooting in the making. Right?
If you're going to continue to ignore that I clearly stated this man should be punished for whatever law(s) he broke to net yourself a win, go ahead; it's Friday after all. But it's clear as day.
