Wonder if we will find out who the new Black Panther is before the film is released. Given theyve kept it quiet this long.

Surprisingly still looks good though. And looking forward to Sub-Mariner.

It's going to have to be cos phase 4 has been almost a complete dumpster fire so far with only Spidey holding it up and very little in the pipeline gives me confidence It's going to improve any time soon.

Have mixed feelings about that trailer, seemed a little to shotgun blast everywhere.

Who we assume will be the new Black Panther, the arms looks too thin to be a man's, and the hands look petite, at least a man they'd cast for BP and that ass is kinda wide. Could be the suit and the angle though.

I think most of us assumed it would be a female BP.

Possibly Nakia if she married TChalla would that make her Royalty? Think she was one of those tribes who could try for it anyway.

Okoye was the best fighter but she would need to find out shes part of a relevant bloodline…

I'd guess Nakia, I'd also prefer her over the sister.

Okoye would be a badass BP, but she's kinda got her own thing going already.

Having Namor is great, just not sure on the casting yet.

The issue is, I have no interest in a new BP. They should have just recast instead of turning some character that I (and nearly everyone else) forgot the name of into a new BP.

Fully agree that would have been the best choice now, for the continuity and longevity of the franchise, they should have just recast. It wouldn't be an insult or disrespectful to Boseman's legacy.

Totally agree about recasting.

Not sure why nowadays you cant just recast Darren, but instead would have to explain why he looks different, or explain how Samantha divorced Darren and married someone else.

Tbh, I think Marvel would be better off just James Bonding the major characters ( Steve, Tony, T’Challa etc) when the actors get sick of the role, and keep the cast a bit tighter. Rather than expanding into d-list characters that no one cares about.

Weird everyone is on-board with recasting now. Must've realised Boseman wasn't the irreplaceable acting God everyone made him out to be after he died. Shame they've never done the same for Heath Ledger who was equally mediocre and had a catalogue of almost entirely utter dogshit roles much in the same way Boseman did.

Thor, Ironman and Captain America weren't exactly big name characters before the MCU started and hardly any mainstream audiences knew Guardians of the Galaxy, Dr Strange, Loki, Black Panther etc.

Using lesser known characters isn't the problem. Using shitty writers is the problem. Box ticking and making movies by committee is the problem.

Honestly I would have even been fine with recasting Princess Leia. Give the character a proper send off. Thats not disrespecting Carrie Fisher.

The two issues aren’t mutually exclusive, imo. Yes, the MCU has gotten very formulaic and uninspired. However, pushing characters like Ms. Marvel and Iron Heart is really scraping the bottom of the barrel.
