Superman's powers are psionically based, if his "Essence" is halved so will his powers.
Not if there is indirect correlation, but wouldn't that be belief in self though? The split appears to be a personality split with pre-Flashpoint getting the cerebral part and New 52 getting the rash part. Each is less than whole (thus weakened), but not necessarily lesser in physical power.
Do feats support rebirth being above New 52?
@JL King...
Earth core was killing Rebirth Superman...
And you're mentioning Mangog being killed by the sun. Superman outright admitted he couldnt last long in the core of Earth. Not the first time it happened either. The energy in Earth core before this has outright took Superman (and Wraith) powers away from him. Let's not bring up Mangog lows as if Superman doesnt have any...hell, he have WORSE.

Using this same rationale a blast that was less than city busting beat Immortal Hulk, right? 🙂

That was for DCNU Superman. Rebirth Superman outright admitted he was helpless in Earths core. Different effects for both but it proves that the core of Earth is too much. That's IF we are using this as an average.
Here is the DCNU scene. Someone like Magneto would be devastating if we took the context from this one scene at face value...

Think people need to be consistent with their debating style.

Spoiler:
You're also just frankly remembering events wrong by the way, Superman and Wraith were not hurt at all by being in the Earth's mantle and Superman explicitly notes they both still have their strength, speed, and wits. The magnetic force from the Earth's core was just interfering with the more versatile usage of their common powersets that Wraith was using to dominate Superman. Wraith losing access to these abilities just put them on a more level playing field. Superman himself was fine.

I said it took their powers away and it did take the versatility part of their powers. It's common sense it didnt strip them of their physical stats because they wouldve died, lol.

Did it affect some of Superman's powers, like heat vision or super senses? Maybe. Or maybe those powers are basic enough as opposed to the more fine-tuned wielding of Wraith's electromagnetic powers that the magnetic force didn't interfere with them. We don't know, and for you to claim otherwise is wrong carver.
But I will give you this carver: it may certainly be that the usage of Mangog's fairly low showing of being apparently killed by being thrown into the sun as gospel while ignoring Superman having serious trouble in the Earth's core is hypocritical. I'm not too read up on Mangog so I can't say for sure, but based on his relative portrayals that I've been led to believe I'd imagine he should probably have better durability than that.
