nah I just think that mocking you and 'rubbing it in" would be the most vile thing to do when it escalates over there, especially when you also have family and friends who have become infected. I'll just sit back silently and allow you to collect sympathy tokens
However you need to deflect from your lack of consistency 🙂
Any political leader who has made decisions that contributed to more deaths has blood on their hands. That means both of them and more.
I distinctly remember a lot of talk in threads about south American migrant caravans how it was the president's main job to protect the American people.
Do you honestly think he's done that as best he could in the last month?

There is not a single leader on the planet who has done the best they could to combat this.
As much as I hate to say it (as I personally don't like the guy), Ireland's did better than most. Though he had the advantage of having been a doctor himself.
Our quarantine has been extended to May, and my local hospital had a bit of an outbreak, but all in all, people doing the social distancing seems to be doing a decent job.
And we can fact check the fact checkers which is what has actually been happening, lately. Even the fact checkers have agendas so you have to fact check the fact checkers.
Like so:

"The air wasn’t really cleaner; those images were fake.
It's more nuanced than that. Some places are cleaner at other times than others and you can get clear images. Unless I have the original images with verbose exif data, all photos touting clean or unclean air should be doubted. There are so many liars and so many options available for altering photos that it is nearly impossible to trust any photos regarding this topic. Just ask PVS: he used to do that for a living.

The hospitals weren’t really a war zone; those stories were hyperbole.
This is fact. Even in the heaviest hit portions of NY, it was difficult to find any patients in the ERs or at the hospitals. The media was caught multiple times using stock footage or recycled footage to make the hospitals look busy. Also, thousands of videos popped up and "record your hospitals"-like hashtags were trending. Video collages exist that show how empty and barren almost all hospitals were. Medical professionals took to social media to also report the lies from the media.
What WAS true that was not represented was the lack of some supplies in some hospitals related to treating cardiovascular and respiratory patients (related to COVID-19).
Also, numerous hospitals report being more then willing to take patients because their hospitals are empty (don't forget, the US runs off of privatized medicine and if there are not patients, there is no money). But the patients never come. One hospital in the "epicenter" at NY was shown to be clearly empty and another very near was shown to be busy "fighting the war against COVID-19." Why? Comes off as artificial scarcity.
The truth sort of lies between the extremes but not really: it's almost all hyperbole about how busy these hospitals are.

The numbers were not that high; the press is lying.
This is a mixed bag of true and false.
But the statement is correct. Actual research done with autopsies shows that as much as 57% of the COVID-19 deaths are being wrongfully attributed to only COVID-19. Also, the media, the CDC, and the WHO incorrectly reported Case Fatality Rates as the Mortality Rate when all of them knew we had the ill being grossly over-represented in the testing results. Later research showed that as many as 90% are asymptomatic or only show mild symptoms and almost none of those people were tested.
So the virus spread far faster than the media reported (bad) but the virus is also far less deadly than originally touted (good).

You didn’t see people in masks standing in the rain risking their lives to vote. Not in America.
I have no idea what this is about.

You didn’t see the leader of the free world push an unproven miracle drug like a late-night infomercial salesman. That was a crisis update.
This is false. Before he had even brought it up, numerous studies had already completed. Trump hardly gets the credit for bring this drug up.

You didn’t see homeless people dead on the street.
What is this shit? We saw homeless people dead on the streets since humans started forming civilizations. Homeless have died on our streets in every major US City since the beginning and it isn't going to stop any time soon. Are they trying to say that there are tons of homeless dying on the streets from COVID-19?

And so we are about to be gaslit in a truly unprecedented way.
Yes, the person who wrote this is clearly gaslighting because some of these facts are not even disputed by the lying, dirty, gaslighting mainstream media. This person is either an idiot or has a gaslighitng agenda.

Right, the check that the Republicans fought for...but this person clearly wouldn't point that out.

And it will be overwhelming. The Great American Return to Normal is coming."
More gaslighitng and more partisan politics.
Yup, that's exactly what is happening and there are numerous calls to return back to normalcy.

ny, like other u.s. cities, have erected mass temporary morgues, not graves.therefore somehow neither is true. look into the gaslight. doesn't it make you feel farm and fuzzy in your tummy?
You're trying to gaslight the people who debunked the people who were trying to gaslight?
This is gaslight-ception. This is next level retardness.
New York City Council member Mark Levine made headlines on April 6 when he tweeted the city was considering temporarily burying the dead in city park trenches."Soon we'll start 'temporary interment.' This likely will be done by using a NYC park for burials (yes you read that right)," he wrote in a tweet that has since been removed.
Mayor Bill de Blasio's office was quick to deny Levine's claim.
“We are NOT currently planning to use local parks as burial grounds,” Press Secretary Freddi Goldstein tweeted later the same day. “We are exploring using Hart Island for temporary burials, if the need grows.”
A spokesperson for the city Office of Chief Medical Examiner confirmed this was not the case in an email to USA TODAY Network.
Later that evening Levine deleted his controversial tweet and clarified that NYC parks would not be used for temporary burials.
Isn't it great that the mayor squashed this attempt at gaslighting hysteria into the masses? What a great mayor. 👆
okay, so there is in fact temporary at least one temp-morgue in nyc. your feelings do not matter. your latest gaslighting strategy does not matter either
