Perhaps how they are doing the counts only reflected against yesterday for those that died in that 3700, yesterday. But none of the other prior days were adjusted.

They're superficially inflating the numbers. More often than not, when someone with Covind-19 dies they have another underlying condition which contributes to them dying but, of course, they always count it as a Covid-19 death regardless of how serious their other condition was.
