Okay, fair, so where's your concern for much bigger issues that kill far more people, issues that more directly (higher probability) affect you?If you're concerned about COVID-19 for these reasons, then your concerns are properly meted and you're far more concerned about more important things. Right? Do you drive? Live in a city? Do you have any relatives over 70?
My concern is where it always was: Present and accounted for.
I don't drink because I only have one kidney. I don't smoke for a multitude of reasons. I don't drive for a whole bunch of reasons either, but if I did, i would assume that everyone else on the road is a ****ing idiot and be hyper-vigilant.
I have my vaccinations (bar HPV as I was told that it was pointless given my age and situation).
So yes, in general, I like to not leave anything to chance. So when a new virus comes along that can and has killed people, I do feel bad for those people. Do I get broken up about every stranger dying? No, of course not.
But I am annoyed, like I said, because China and some others would rather downplay it than take it seriously. Because we do take flu seriously. It's why you see ads on TV and have vaccinations for it. And it still kills people every year.
