^ You make some good points although, if he wasn't knocked back with his tutaminis why would he be knocked back with his lightsaber. I would've always assumed that he just didn't have enough grip strength.

Sure grip was an issue. But I think its pretty clear its easier to deflect lightning with your lightsaber than without.

Yoda is literally on the edge of the pod, so had no room to move back. So He was just not in the best position to keep a good grip on his lightsaber against Sidious full blast.

See, I've always thought that the tighter quarters of a senate pod would have actually favored Yoda given his small stature. Seems like he'd have more room to maneuver then Sidious.

I believe the junior novel mentions something about Yoda's low weight being reason he fell off the pod shortly after it says he disarms Sidious.
