So, I beat Soul Master, then went on to fight Soul Tyrant, and beat him. Toughest boss fight in the game.
Then I learn later Dream Bosses are end game stuff. I guess a twice upgraded nail, six masks, seven notches, and no double jump puts me at.... Mid game, maybe? Or early mid?
Now I'm trying to do Failed Champion.
I'm just thinking if I can do it underleveled, I just may ruin the games difficulty for me with "appropriate" upgrades.

I wish someone played fighting games on PSN. 🙁
I have that game on PS3 in which DC comics characters fight each other ( "Gods of Justice" or whatever it's called) but I have not played it since I first bought it because I suck at fighting games so much; wasted my money on that game.
Bought it just because I used to be a huge DC comics fan and thought I would eventually get good at it with practice and learn to like it.
As it turned-out, there were just too damn many different button combos to learn and it only frustrated me.
I tend to stick to RPG's, turn-based strategy and tactics games like XCOM, Sniper games, and a few shooters and action/adventure games.
Fighting games just don't really appeal to me at all.
Been looking for the double jump thing in Hollow Knight.
Instead, I found the arena.
Not sure if I'm having fun or am just frustrated, but I'm not stopping until I get that pale ore, so I can upgrade my nail a third time. Would go a long way with Fragile Strength to grinding out notches in the first contest (I assume you can just keep grinding up notches until it says you can't?)

Has anyone ever played Tyranny? It's an RPG on the PC that came out in 2016. One unique thing about it is that your character creation involves the ability to do a "conquest" mode. You see the game begins with your side(the bad guys) having won a war. Conquest mode is an optional thing you can do to personalize the storyline, since you can choose from a bunch of different choices that you made during the war, including allies, etc. This will play into how the game unfolds. It was created by the same people who created Pillars of Eternity. I have it on GOG, but you can find it on Steam too, both places charge $29.99 for the vanilla version of the game.
What ever happened to the Shovel Knight bandwagon? Seems like that was all over the internet, and faded off into obscurity, unlike Shovel Knight which seemed to go from a luke warm reception to becoming the Hulkamania of indy gaming.
For my money, I think SK is one of the best retro Megaman style games you can play.
Meant to say "Unlike Hollow Knight".
Because Shovel Knight and Hollow Knight had polar opposite cycles, with HK getting a middling reception, and eventually getting a massive fan base, while SK used to be all you'd hear about as the next big thing, until you didn't. I mean, they even put Scrooge McDuck against Shovel Knight.
In terms of scope, there really is no beating Hollow Knight. It does exploration, it has hard as nails multi layered boss fights, it has Super Meat Boy like platforming, it has Zelda like questing and dungeons and gear based upgrades.
Shovel Knight is much more specialized. It does just one thing, but it does it very, very well imo.
It's essentially a proper modern day Megaman. It's loads more fun than Megaman 11, thats for sure.

Anyone try Fortnite? I've heard it's good, but I tend to just not like online games.Supposedly they are bringing in Galactus.
I played Fortnite beta something, a few years back. It was alright. Not my cup of tea.
But it is really fun. Imagine if we had Fortnite as kids instead of Goldeneye and Perfect Dark? We'd love it, too.
Laptop Gun...still the best.
