Entire Unit of NY Cops resign over Police Brutality

could have just admitted fault without taking more swings at people. glad we're on the same page about the clearly visible nightstick shove. As far as how the elderly man "finds something to trip on", surely you can see why you appeared to be completely disingenuous and trolling for the lulz.

There's nothing but empty flat sidewalk behind him. He's 75, doesn't take much to lose your balance at that age, especially after being shoved backwards.

the real trick with elderly people is keeping them from falling down on their own, unassisted

I'll concede, I was playing it up slightly in a disingenuous manner, but the reason his stumbling backwards looked so fake to me was because I was focusing on the cop on the right, who does only push him lightly, as opposed to Colonel Nightstick. It's a shame this man went out of his way to be treated so callously, especially at his age, and with so much violence and unrest already going on.

I don't know, it happens so fast I can't tell whats going on outside of the last shove.

But its true it doesn't take much for an old person to fall just standing there, so..

I'm confused. Do you mean I should concede that they "lightly pushed him"? Because I already said that. I take issue with the term 'shoved', because the video does not show a shove, it shows a push to get him out of their faces and to get him to stop touching them and blocking their path.

Yes, they could have easily handled this better. Imo, police in America aren't particularly great. They seem to have a habit of murdering dogs and kids at the slightest provocation, sometimes just shooting anything that moves. They also seem to get a pass just because their jobs are stressful (which they are, but that's not the point). I just think that people focusing on this case is silly when there are much worse cases at hand. This guy, according to eyewitnesses, was out there with the intention of being attacked, to make a point. Seems he succeeded.

Are you kidding me, they shoved him.

^The total lack of self awareness is hilarious

A lot has been said since that post lol. I wasn't looking at the right cop. One pushed him lightly, one seems to shove two-handed with a baton.

relax, surt 🙄

He'd probably enjoy that though.

He'd hate you afterwards tho, because he enjoyed it.

Good on you. I was scratching my head thinking, 'WTF', after you said he was gently pushed.

Seems like the kind of jack-booted, thugish arrogance that a person who has spent more than 5 minutes with a police officer knows all too well.

Good point about the pusher going over to the man afterward, I assumed he was going to check he was okay, but I suppose it's possible he was going in for round 2.

Just disband all state/city police forces, let the communities do their own policing.

That's kind of what they're considering, actually.

Redirecting police funds to communities, and potentially switching over to a community policing system.

At least that's what's being reported. I can only imagine anything and everything is on the table right now, as they sort it out.
