He did.

There's also this:

So he has to not only catch up with the missiles, but the shield has enough force to then tear through it, AND still have enough momentum to come back to his arm.

That is some comic fu right there.

616 has better feats, though.

Yes.

Originally, the scene was meant to be a part of Astonishing Captain America series in 2011 (as shown in the official issue preview). But the comic never got released:

Marvel released it two years later than planned under a different title --- Captain America: Living Legend:

You and Rage attacked me back in the day 'cause you were both clueless about that little fact 😛

I've been reading this. Same stipulation. No shield h2h match:

Cap vs. Ultimate Cap threads aren't a new thing, yeah. There have been dozens of them.

Ultimate Cap's only real advantage is consistency, but same thing can be said about any character who has far less appearances that the other character.

616 Cap has been a part of the mainstream MU since 1941.

Yeah, consistency against characters who also are more often lesser versions feat-wise than their 616 counterparts.

I declare myself the winner of this thread.

Don't forget about the truck feat:

But the missile feat is better, as it's more of a pure strength feat.

When Cap's shield slices through tanks or trucks, it's only partially because of his strength --- the nature of the very shield itself being super-metal allows it to damage almost anything with ridiculous ease (comic book logic).

Example: Crossbones hits Cap's hand to let him go of the shield --- said shield gets embedded in the brick wall:

You just stated the obvious 😛

Anyway, Wing is more than welcome to try to argue how Ultimate Cap is superior physically.

In a way, he's not wrong, as 616 Cap fluctuated a lot through different eras --- some writers wanted him to be a powerless peak human, some wrote him as a legit meta, some (Brubaker) managed to retcon the meaning of SSS peak human... and some were undecided.

While the Ultimate Cap was meant to be a legit meta from his first appearance to his last one.

It's a FACT that Ultimate Cap is stronger than 616.

There's more but its no contest. The strength difference is HUGE. Durability as well and I think Ultimate Cap fights good enough to make these huge advantages mean something.

Oh geez, Carv.

That is one of the craziest strength feats for anyone not wearing a cape or holding a hammer. Absolutely insane, and clearly more than superhuman.

Amazing feat of aiming as well btw.

Bruce Wayne has a poster of Steve Rogers above his bed.

616 and he's not a kunt.

Meh, they all have their moments.

'Not even a cruise missile can get through that door':

Well, and Batman:

Using a Tomahawk (the first cruise missile that came to mind) gives a yield of 500kg of TNT.

Black Wind? So a Batgirl comic.

I bet there was some chuckling in the office when he came up with that name.

Yup, Batgirl #44.

There's also the fear where he's poisoned and wounded, and still damages glass that a bazooka can't scratch, just with his kicks.

Wtf. Is there some context for this? Lol

It's a comic book.

Breaking the door is nothing. That evil scientist's durability, now that is something.

Looney Tunes moment, tbh.
