Dude...she is not a movie fan at all. She doesn't get or understand any movie quote stuff.

My girlfriend hasn’t seen like any movie. I showed her Forrest Gump a couple months ago. She loved it.

So what does she do with her spare time?

Mine wife watches cooking and street food shows. Hours upon hours every week. And game shows like trivia quiz shows and performance shows (like singing and acting).

anyone try the rock's tequila

If this happens, your muscle group might not be getting enough recovery between workouts.

Between sets?

I'll use numbers:

When I decided to quit the routine, it was after the second chest-tris workout on the second week.

Normally, I'd use the 75lbs dumbbells to do 3 sets of 15-20 on incline press.

I kept my heart rate above 160.

After the set, I'd do jump ropes to keep it up.

On the second set, I could barely move the 75s more than 5 reps. Just no energy left. It was gone.

Dropped down to 55s: barely got 12. Normally, 55s are the second warmup.

Normally, I do the 75s for all 3 working sets, 15-20 reps each set.

This result was the same for all workouts - just drained of energy (glycogen).

This is apparently quite normal. I looked and I could not find research on this for trained athletes (like me). It was only for untrained people. That sucks. We know from many studies that highly trained athletes respond differently to workloads and types of workouts.

That is way too many reps. I also stagger the weight. So I do the lightest weight for the first set, the heaviest weight for the second set, and an in-between weight for the third set. For everything.

I'll stop being a b*tch and try much lower reps (but more weight) and try this again for 2 weeks.

Not that you need to know but I'll report back the results to you.

Look what I got from you:

Personal training for freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Edit- I won't start this until next week. I have one more workout this week under the old system (legs) and I'm done for this week.

How many reps are you doing for each of the three sets?

After the set, I'd do jump ropes to keep it up.

Why not just switch to something like jumping jacks or get a light 15 lb kettlebell and do single arm swings.

About 8. 10 at most.

I just repped out 225 for 10 reps

Feels good to throw that weight around.

My new goal is to run the 40yard dash in less than six seconds

When gym Lockdown here is over we should give it a month and post a short video of our best max set at Bench Press. Mine will be incline either Dumbells of barbell incline. I avoid flat now pulls my rotator a little. 🙂 who is game? Short vid.

I think your ego's are already big enough
