It already is backfiring, if you look at polls that include him oftentimes he's taking more from the GOP than the Dems. Especially since Harris became the nominee.

I'd have thought they'd say something stupid like Walz is Canadian, considering he's from Minnesota.

Yeah I thought as much. With his whole anti-vax schtick, that would attract Republican voters more than Dems.

He's from Nebraska, moved to Minnesota in the 90s.

Rightist mouthpieces from Senators like Ted Cruz on down are pushing on Fox News, media streams and social media that Harris picked Walz over Shapiro because Democrats hate Jews.

This is why Trump picked a Jewish Vice President or something.

It's been really interesting watching the GOP struggle in real time to come up with some kind of viable strategy against Harris since she's become the nominee. They were obviously caught with their pants down and I don't think anyone expected the surge she's gotten in polling when compared to Joe Biden.

It's like every day they sling some new attack at her and hope it sticks. And none of them seem to be doing anything.

The Repulicans hated Trump and now they grovel for him. Fickle. That's it.

It's rather fascinating how things utterly flipped in an extremely short span of time. They seem to be doubling down hard on the "super hyper socialist communist liberals!" attacks and they're seemingly failing. Walz signing laws that gives school kids free lunch and tampons is socialism, but only the most Far-Right types have a problem with that.

Just saw today they're attacking Walz's 24 years of military service and going with some weird "stolen valor" angle.

Trump had so much momentum 3 weeks ago, and it's all gone. And while I think Luntz is correct, the election isn't until November, and lots can change by then. I can't wait to see what the October surprise is this year.
