As a person who has worked in IT for almost 20 years, the premise is completely unbelievable. Ruins the entire the movie, imo. It's like they've never heard of offsite backups. Financial institutions pioneered back and recovery storage stuff and had near realtime recovery methods implemented by the end of the 90s. You think they'd like hundreds of billions of dollars in financial data be destroyed in data centers all near each other like that?
