It's less filler that is my problem(hello vegeta destroying arlia)and more where they would purposely draw out a scene of a character "powering up" or something.
Stuff where it was clear they were just trying to stretch the episode out so they had an excuse to make more.
Not just a scene. But they’d tease a fight and then draw out the training or powering up for like an entire season. Maybe it was less noticeable for kids who were watching weekly but seeing as I was watching my friend’s dvd collection - multiple episodes over a few hours - it was very noticeable and obnoxious.

The stuff on Kai's planet is great, though. if Goku's going to be ridiculously OP then I at least want to see him achieve that strength, rather than just like, be powerful (which is an issue with many modern protagonists)
Yeah, but Goku and Gohan both do end up powerful just...cuz reasons. Oh sure they do training, just like Vegeta and Trunks do.
Yet there is no real reason given for why Goku and his kid were hilariously more powerful than Vegeta and his kid. Goku fends off Trunks with his index finger when they first meet.
Originally posted by SurturHaving characters that are powerful 'just because' is fine, that's a standard trope, but they have to at least train to maintain and develop that strength. Goku without any of his King Kai training got mostly dunked on by Raditz, who is smallest of the small fries.

It's a good message, showing that even natural wunderkinds have to put time and effort into developing their skills, or that potential will be squandered.

So who else was a fan of Michael Dukakis?Or who do you wish was eligible to run for election now from back in the day?
I remember some kid in my grade did a poster for a school political project that the tagline read "We don't want the little cock, we want the big Bush." It was clever; I laughed. The teacher wasn't very amused but let it slide.
His name was Derek, he was a smug tool. I'd not be surprised if he's a Trumper now.
