The assertion is that Logan has to have a larger degree of superhuman strength (than what he has) to cut through certain things.
Slashing and stabbing are twi different things. Everyone believes that Logan can slice the flesh of all the contestants and stabbed into them.
But slashing through their skull is something different.

Reduced range, too, seeing how Logan was knocked on his ass and pinned. Imagine what he can do on purpose, from a standing position? Ouch...
Then you have claws slicing clean through omnium, which Gray Hulk and Immortal Hercules failed to bend.
Or through Terminus' armor, which no-sold both physical and energy attacks from Mjolnir wielded by Classic Thor.
Even bone claws have plenty of high feats, tbh. Like piercing Onslaught's forcefield or hurting Cardiac despite his vibranium-mesh armor/skin.

The problem is consistency.
Wolverine struggles to do more than flesh wounds on one character, yet skewers a character every bit the equal of the one he struggles to harm.
Namor's always been underwritten though, so it could be less about Wolverine. Beats Hulk twice, stands up to Thor, absolutely destroys Iron Man, struggles with Matt and T'challa.

Adamantium is not called "miracle metal" for nothing. Its properties were described (and shown) on panel many times, it's nothing new.
It ignores high levels of "invulnerability" superpower on the regular basis... and goes through nigh-indestructible materials and even some magical artifacts which are supposed to be 100% proof against conventional weaponry, too.
