The Official Joe Biden for President Thread

This explains it all:

This clip has been misleadingly cropped to appear like Biden’s comments reflect his own opinions. The full footage is visible here ( cs.pn/2NIvJ8c ,exact moment at 17:14). Biden is reading a confidential staff memorandum at William Reynolds’ nomination for becoming Associate Attorney General on June 5, 1985 (see memo on page 440, bit.ly/3gemWqR ). He quotes the words allegedly used by a white legislator who opposed to the Louisiana redistricting plan in 1981.

Taken out of context.

and over 30 years old

For the love of God, don’t vote for either Biden or Trump.

I'm voting for Biden. Both candidates are confirmed corporate shills with degrading mental states and possible sexual deviant pasts, but at least Biden doesn't constantly seem like a bytchy high school girl competing for popularity. I tried play it clean and vote third party in 2016, but all that got was a non-Mexico funded wall and complete federal incompetence during the worst health crisis of the 21st century. So I guess this time I'll have to go for dirty compromise.

go biden!

Nice to see you back.

I think I will still throw my vote away to a third party this fall. If it was possible, I'd convince tens of millions of Americans to do the same so we wouldn't have to play the 2 party game.

That might trigger the mainstream media more if a third party candidate won instead of Trump. 🙂

and then biden wins.....

I wish you the best of luck. Like I said, I took that gamble in 2016, and I'm dissatisfied with the results, so this time I'll try a safer bet. Maybe one or two election cycles down the line the country will be ready for a third party, but right now it is a literal do-or-die situation on a global scale and the current administration are a bunch of incompetent buffoons lead by a petulant manchild more concerned with the baseballs he can't throw and "Muh Trade Deals" than the fact that the world is essentially in the midst of a potentially-infrastructure-shattering natural disaster/socio-political revolt. Trump had 4 years to prove himself (and one can't say "the Dems obstructed him" because
A) he had no problem supporting the GOP obstructing Obama
B) his ENTIRE platform for getting elected was that he was an outsider who could bypass the bureaucracy by "draining the swamp" and geopolitics by "getting deals done"😉
as more than Hillary's Pied Piper Candidate Pawn (which is all his dumbass ever was), and not only did he fail, not only did America not become great, it fell into the phucking sewer grate.

America is definitely one of the countries most devastated by COVID, mainly because his petulant dumbass sabotaged Obamacare instead of evolving it or Medicaid/Medicare with his so-called business acumen, which would have given all citizens the ability to get tested, but nope, he had to take a play out of the Mitch McConnell playbook of destroying everything Obama did, hilariously, tragically, and poetically setting up his own demise and possibly that of the US as well.

He is clearly too incompetent to lead during this time and he has no one but himself to blame. He could have had a different, respectable public image that the world could be looking up to right now, but instead he wanted to spend the 4 years of his presidency golfing and Tweeting instead of devoting himself entirely to the presidency like he promised in his campaign. For Trump, the presidency is clearly not the ultimate position of responsibility but rather the ultimate trophy of prestige, and the longer his reckless irresponsibility rules over the country, the more people will suffer.

Also, it's hilarious that after all those years of conspiracy theories about Obama's evil Jade Helm takeover, it is now Trump making himself dictator by suspending the election due to COVID that has everyone on their heels.

I think he was quoting someone when he said that.

Holy shit, thank god. I was like wow, that is just blatant racism.

So he might still be a creep but maybe not a racist.

Indeed, the hilarity behind the critical race theory that the left and media so embrace didn't hold sway when it came to the office of president, that of course had to be an old ass white guy vs another old ass white guy.

I’d like to see someone like Homer who wrote the oddessy elected.
Dems need to reach into the edu. Dept.

Yea, the democrats were too racist to vote for her.

Super glad you were inspired by my post to type up all of this about Trump. We agree with a minimum of 90% of every point you brought up. I think the only area was disagree on is the trade-deal stuff. I was wanting a president to finally stand up to China with severe actions and we got that. I wasn't too pleased with his approach but it was close enough. I think Trump hasn't gone far enough. The fact that I want this with China should mean something since India is becoming an economic powerhouse, as well - why don't we have this same problems with India (or at the scale as with China)?

Other than that, we are on the same page. Perhaps I'm too obstinate to give up voting for 3rd parties like you have. Unfortunately, since I'm a dirty filthy leftist, that does mean my vote is being taken away from Biden. But I could not see myself voting for Biden even if the GOP was running a different candidate.

I've never voted for a Democrat or a Republican at the national level. For any position. I don't view Trump as so much of a threat to my political beliefs that I need to vote for someone I despise. I'm not at the point of fury against Trump like many leftists are.

HOWEVER...

My results show I side with Trump the least of any of the major candidates:

Puts it into context.

Biden was questioning then-Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights William Reynolds over his nomination — by then-President Ronald Reagan — to be promoted to Associate Attorney General.

Specifically, he was asking Reynolds about his part in pre-clearing a Louisiana redistricting plan that was later struck down in court.

"On December 17, 1981, shortly after the adoption of Act 20, the State of Louisiana submitted the plan to the Attorney General of the United States for preclearance as required by § 5 of the Voting Rights Act, 42 U.S.C. § 1973c. On June 18, 1982, the Attorney General, through his head of the Civil Rights Section, William Bradford Reynolds, informed the State that he would not object to the plan."
