That's not how vs. fighting genre of video games work, though.

You can beat SF games with Dan Hibiki, even though he's SF's equivalent of Sourman.

Forgive my ignorance regarding all things gaming, but I honestly don't know what this means. 😮

I'm just saying that the PLs listed in that article might be 'game-only', and not necessarily applicable to the movies themselves... OR they could be applicable to the movies as well... No one really knows, which is why that particular source has always been a bit dubious. /shrug

It means you're a boomer, boomer.

👆

The Dragonball and Z movies are non-canon. DBS Broly and Superhero might be.
Games are also obviously non-canon.

But that's tech, Parm. And many years have passed.

Ultron and Hank Henshaw say hello. Or the Shaper of Worlds and Cosmic Armor Superman. vin

You realize that CAS isnt actually tech right, and just a weaponised idea, just as the Monitors of Nil were just archetypal ideas?

Then why was it called thought ROBOT?

CHECKMATE.

yeah from what i understand all of the z movies are noncanon, but they still loosely align with certain timeframes in canon z.

all of the dbs movies are in canon though.

Good thing nobody here is discussing their canonicity, then.

It means PLs cannot possibly apply to the game in this case the way you would want them to.

You've never even played the original Mortal Kombat game from three decades ago? Give it a try one day, aged like a fine wine.

I get what you're saying. It just doesn't work like that.

You could pick Krillin and stomp Kid Buu. That's how fighting video games work. Select a character and beat the shit out of CPU or your friend controlling the other character. Games of this genre don't even have a real plot, most of the time. So, there's no use for estimating the PLs of the characters. The only "PL" that matters is the skill of the player controlling them.

--
If you think Cooler's PL is inaccurate, that's cool beans, and it surely wouldn't be the first one V-Jump got wrong.

But not because it was some game-only shit.

--
Now if we wanted to assess the formidability of Dark Jedi Desann in Jedi Outcast, that's a wholly different story.

But that's a game with its own plot (and a damn good one, too), many cutscenes (including Desann dueling Luke) and obviously very different mechanics from fighting games.

Basically what Stilty is saying in a fighting game, anyone can beat anyone. In Marvel Vs Capcom, Gambit could throw Juggernaut around or Hawkeye can beat Onslaught.

No. Only partially.

Keep in mind how the same arcs told in DBS manga and anime series differ from the movies (and they differ from each other as well... as if it wasn't confusing enough... 😂 ).

Carver controlling the Hulk would no doubt get assraped by Parmaniac controlling Hitler.

I played the original MK arcade style game when I was a kid, back when my mom used to take me to the laundromat. It was fun, even though I was just button smashing the entire time. But outside of a few instances here and there over the years, I don't think I have personally sat down and played a video game since maybe the PS2 days. Just never got into it. 😮

Unless it was solely promotional material to hype the game(which seems more and more likely the more I look into it.) In which case, it would *just* be game-hype, and not necessarily applicable to the movies.

I'm not saying PLs cross-over into games like that, but again: promo/hype material is promo/hype material... If indeed that's what the article is primarily referencing.

Basically, the DBS movies all do start off as canon... But then if they are retold in the anime/manga, then that becomes the primary canon.

...Then you get into the whole DBS anime canon vs. DBS manga canon debacle, lol.

Actually, I blame fighting games for some of the posters and their debating - they probably see the fight going like in a fighting game, where the gap between characters is relatively small.

Oh, sure. Forum fights can be a lot like fighting games.

Speedblitzcombo-to-KO would be one example of that.

I'm sure you would become a huge video game nerd if you ever got into it.

...

Probably surpassing all of KMC 😂

Have you tried consulting your kimono-wearing friends on Kanzenshuu?

If anyone knows for sure, it's them.

Darksaint debating style is like a video game.

And that's the problem. I would fixate on certain games, and my social life would come to a complete halt.

...But that almost sounds appealing these days. I hate people. mmm

That has been the consensus there also. Pretty much everyone(including guys like Herms) are unsure if it's game-only, or also applicable to the movies.
