Thor vs Silver Surfer [Fight and contests!]

1). Hand to hand.

Worthy Thor but without Mjolnir. They're both grounded, obviously.

2). In an output battle. Thor cannot use his godblast, but he does get Mjolnir.

They stand still and hit one spot ONCE [either by striking, blasting, etc. whatever is the greatest] that ranks them. Who can hit harder?

3). In a durability contest.

Galactus lines them up, and starts blasting them simultaneously with equally powered blasts. Thor does not have Mjolnir. They have to stand and take it through pure durability.

He starts from low level, and keeps increasing the power of the blast until one of them falls.

Who falls first?

4). In a race.

They're both on foot. They have to run 5 km. Who reaches the finish line first?

Surfer in all except hand to hand.

1) Thor.
2) Thor.
3) Thor but it’s close. Thor’s just tougher than Surfer on their best days imo.
4) Not sure.

How's Thor just tougher than Surfer?

You think Surfer is going to beat Thor in a h2h fight? You think it's more likely that Surfer is going to knock out Thor in h2h instead of vise versa?

Surfer is more invincible, but Thor is tougher.

4) Hulk outruns them both

Yes, he has beat the crap out of BRB and Skaar in h2h. Thor's chances of overcoming Surfer's durability are very low.

Surfer is more invincible, but Thor is tougher.

In what way? In energy blast durability, Surfer is easily superior to Thor.

Lol his board rammed into the back of Bill's neck when they were flying many times the speed of flight through space when he got the advantage. Bill has also two-pieced Surfer previously when he got a similar advantage.

Ares stalemated Skaar and was implied to have the advantage. You'll have to do better. Thor has taken on Hulk and the Thing at the same in close combat while weakened. Twice!

Thor's chances of beating the Surfer into unconscious in a h2h fight are much higher than the latter. He is a much more skilled combatant, and their encounters have proven that getting in h2h is not what Surfer wants with Thor.

"I didn't feel a thing." - Grievously injured Thor bleeding reality from his side

Surfer is very tough, and incredibly durable. If you think he edges out Thor because of his invulnerability, that might be possible. I think their encounters show otherwise. You think there is a large gap, which is just idiotic.

I'm surprised people think Thor has greater output without Godblasting tbh.

If Thor with Mjolnir and the Surfer got into a beam struggle. Who do you see winning, no God Blast? I'll freely admit to be being biased, but I genuinely see the former winning and the Surfer having to break off his assault.

Mjolnir > The PC imo even without taking into consideration Thor's weather powers. The MS helps justify it's opness.

Post-Black Winter arc and Surfer Blacked in the future, I really think Mjolnir's power > PC even in output is cemented. At least as long as Cates is at the helm.

Really? I've never seen Carol Danvers knocking out Surfer with a blast (She wasn't binary level and later both Firelord and Terrax casually tanked Binary).

That's just from top of my head.

I honestly don't think there's that much of a difference between the two of them.
I believe it possible for Surfer to completely unload all of his power cosmic, which I think would edge out Thor in power-output, but like with the hand to hand matchup it's a lot closer than most people think.

Funny, Thor never overpowered Firelord in beam struggle.

No, they fought in Wolverine Origins, which was a cross-over run by Daniel Way and Greg Pak, and not Bendis. Please get your facts correct.

Carol Danvers spent the entire fight being powered up by Thor's own energy when she blasted him.

Thor also fought Dumb Drax with the Power Gem in this era. Hell, he fought Dumb Drax and Merged Hulk at the same time and held his own.
