Surfer spent millions of years trying to be Worthy of Mjolnir. It made him way more powerful, and significantly increased his power output.

It allowed him to one-shot kill Cosmic GR, who neither Thanos or Galactus could kill. It allowed him to beat up up King Thanos, and present Thanos, when either of them would easily crush him.

Donny Cates is a massive Surfer (And an even bigger Thanos) fanboy, and it's clear where he stands on Mjolnir's power output vs. the Surfer.

That story was a mess power levels wise and King Thanos actually oneshot killed King Thor with mjolnir.

Drax was basically unbeatable at the time. Thor stalemated him, when he was clearly vastly superior to Surfer in h2h. Surfer couldn't even budge him without blasting him, and he even completely knocked back super-amped Sun Surfer.

You just mentioned Cates is a Surfer fanboy.

Also, we don't know how powerful that Thor was, what weapons or help Thanos, only that Thanos blasted him and he lost control of Mjolnir in that one panel. The Surfer vs. Mjolnir comparison is much more explored.

This has nothing to do with Thor. If you're referring to the Fraction fight, Surfer WAS pissed. Thor had just injured Galactus and he was mad AF.

Pak directly worked on the comic with Daniel Way IIRC. It tied into the Hulk main title. Then Pak is a clown, but he redeemed himself when Unworthy Thor fought Cho Hulk under Pak.

Talk about excuses. King Thor with mjolnir gets oneshot killed, Surfer with mjolnir beats the crap out of King Thanos and kills CGR which King Thanos couldn't do and normal Thor got his ass handed to him under Aaron and even "stronger than Thor" she hulk couldn't do anything to him.

The Power Cosmic was used to open a breach/tear in reality that was cascading exponentially:

Thor using his godly energies to seal the Limbo Universe has no bearing on Surfer vs. Thor's power, an in fact, it showed that Asgardian magic can do what the PC cannot.

That was written by Ron Marz. All those cool feats like Surfer vs. Morg etc. from v3 of Silver Surfer? All him.

A co-ordinated group of some of the most influential cosmic writers ever, Ron Marz, Tom DeFalco, and Jim Starlin had Thor beat the shit out of Surfer across multiple issues.

You can also throw in Stan Lee for dropping this little nugget:

"He possess more strength than I could ever know...."

This is basically everyone who has ever wrote a memorable Surfer story (You can throw in Jack Kirby too), and if you told them that Surfer could take Thor in h2h, they'd laugh you out of the room. 🙂

When did Defalco wrote Thor beating Surfer? On the other hand his Surfer was fighting Mephisto when Masterson couldn't.

Lee's Surfer was depowered. And when he later wrote the enslavers GN, Surfer was specifically more powerful than everyone on Earth including Thor.

Which imo is utterly idiotic. He's basing that on one out of context panel of King Thanos blasting King Thor. When we have a full 6 issue arc that makes his stance on Asgardian magic vs. PC.
