The Pedophilia and Orientation Debate and Its Implications for Forensic Psychiatry
By its nature, the field of forensic psychiatry demands attention to and integration of both mental health and legal perspectives. Sometimes, important distinctions come down to the perspective adopted, the method employed, or even single words. This editorial reviews a controversial subject in forensic sexology to illustrate general concerns of potential interest to all forensic psychiatrists. While the specific topic may not be at the top of every forensic psychiatrist's list of causes for concern, the principles arising may be surprisingly generalizable.
The main question to be addressed here is whether or not pedophilia is an orientation. In 2013, the American Psychiatric Association issued a statement that the DSM-5 text that refers to pedophilia as an “orientation” (Ref. 4, p 698) was a text-based error. Nevertheless, some sexologists have continued to argue that pedophilia is in fact a sexual orientation.

Mark my words - much of the WEST will decriminalize Pedophilia at some point. The process starts with revisits in Forensic Psychiatry.
I would love to have a look at member Surtur when that happens.

Regarding Pedophilia nonsense attributed to Holy Prophet (PBUH):-
All that is known for sure is that Ayesha was the youngest bride of Holy Prophet (PBUH). Her true age at the time of marriage is subject to much debate among scholars throughout history.
Hadith are 'interpretations' of statements and events pertaining to Holy Prophet (PBUH) from his companions but documented many years after his death - these records are known to have mistakes/errors in them. These mistakes/errors led to categorization of hadith in terms of reliability hundreds of years ago and this issue inspire debate even in modern times because this matter is not resolved yet.
Documented mistakes/errors are a common theme in human records throughout history. Even books such as Guinness Book of World Records have gotten stuff wrong at times.
